Classic
cargo fence sections are made
with built-up shapes glued together to create
approx.
.125" thickness base plus cross beams.
Fence sections can be used in tandem with
"Countdown
3D Blocks for Pickup Truck" design, or attached
independently inside
Truck's cargo bay side walls.
(View the Red Pickup Truck tutorial HERE.)
ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
NOTE: shapes layout includes components for
two fence sections, but quantities listed are for one fence.
A main fence base with build up (7 plus accent face)
B post outer face accent overlays with nail holes (2)
C inner post overlays (2)
D cross beams faces and build up (7 plus accent face)
2. Layer the main fence build up shapes with face
overlay on top, taking care to align cut edges
as precisely as possible (here & throughout).
Use a flat weight to press the shape while
the liquid adhesive used to join layers dries
thoroughly (up to several hours).
3. Position and attach the (outer) front overlayson top of the stack from step 2.
Add nail head accents or studs over the nail holes
(see step 7 image).
Also position and attach the backside overlay
accents on posts.
4. Layer and attach the cross beam build up
plus face accent overlay in similar manner
to main fence section. Use flat weight while drying.
5. Position build up stack over corresponding
cross beam areas of main shape stacks,
aligning edges. Use flat weight while drying.
NOTE: use a quick grab glue such as Fabri-Tack
to help join beams which cross the vertical post shapes.
6. To use the fence sections with the truckWITHOUT the blocks platform,
simply position, centered front to back,
inside the cargo bed side walls,
with post bottoms resting on bed floor,
and glue posts in place.
7. To use with the blocks platform, select the platform
shapes that include the fence post cut outs
then insert the posts through openings
and push downward into place.
Glue in place as desired.
