Box 3D Hexagon Swirl Top with Crown Panels

Hexagon dimensional box has petal-tipped latch arms 

that swirl together to close the box’s top, forming a flower. 

Side walls hold accent squares or crown stencil squares 

and hearts stencil panels, or mix and match with 

fun, pretty paper prints for plain panels. 

Interior bottom optional hexagon can hold a standard gift card. 

Sized to coordinate with “Princess Crown 3D Easel Card”, 

but large enough for many other gift-giving occasions. 

Measures approx. 5.125” wide x 6.5” long x 2.875” tall when closed. 

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A hull half shapes (2)  B & C inner & outer bottom hexagon bases
D optional interior contrast panel (this one is gift card option)
E hull side crown panels (6)
F hull side hearts base strips (6)

2. Prepare the hull shapes by bending back on all

perforation lines of side wall panels, top interlocking 'arms',

side and bottom flange tabs.

3. Position and attach the crown and hearts  'stencil' 
cut out panels, offset within each side panel, and pushed
together along the dividing straight edges.
NOTE that a plain rounded corner 'square' panel shape
is also included in the cut file to provide options for
decorating the hexagon box for other occasions.

4. Position the two hull shapes so that the plain straight

edge of one aligns and overlaps the opposite side flange tab

of the other, adjust so that bottom and top panel edges

are in line, then complete the first side seam.

5. Form the hull into a tube to align and join
side seam #2.

Apply fingertip pressure along the seam.

NOTE that the symmetry of the hull will allow it to be

laid flat for easier seam completion, if desired.

6. At hull bottom, bend the flange tabs inward.

7. Place assembly with fold edges down, then apply

adhesive to the inner (backside) flange surfaces, then . . .

. . . insert a base hexagon into the hull and slide down
so that it rests with each straight edge along a flange
crease. Reach in and apply pressure along each flange 
seam until firmly attached.

8. Position and attach the bottom hexagon onto
hull bottom, concealing the flange seaming.
NOTE it is advisable to use dry adhesive method
such as permanent double stick tape.

9. Optional: place loaded gift card hexagon on inside
of box, before inserting . . .

. . . the crown easel card or other contents.

10. To close the swirl petal box top 'arms',

begin with one arm, bending it to perpendicular

toward center, then working in counter-clockwise order,

bend arm #2 down over the top of #1.

Continue in similar manner to bend arm #3 into
position, noting that the petal tips will start to
configure into the flower shape, around the tiniest
of center 'holes'.

The fourth arm will begin the interlocking process,
where the 'hook' angled straight edge of the petal tip 
will need to slide under the edge of petal #1
as it is positioned, then eased into 'fully flat' position.

Repeat same under-lapping of arm #5, and . . .

. . . for final arm #6, with the additional requirement . . .

. . . that the angled edge of 'hook' will need to
be flexed slightly (and carefully) to slide under
the lead edge of arm #1. . . 

. . . before adjusting and easing
into fully flat position with petal hook on top . . .

. . . and all the petal tips evenly spaced to form flower.

11. To OPEN the box, reverse the process of closing

by assisting the first arm (choose any) petal the 'unhook'

from the flower configuration, ease slightly upward and . . .

. . .relatively outward until it clears the hook and can be

bent fully away.

Then continue working counter-clockwise to ease and

un-latch each successive arm and hook, which will

become increasingly easier until all are released

and bent away to reveal inner hull or contents.
