Rosebud Bouquet Double Cascade Card

A pair of slanted, intersecting walls with accent wall shapes 

offers the foundation to assemble a dozen 2-layered rose buds, 

beneath sepal stems to create a special bouquet. 

Extra front panel also holds buds and leaves, 

with a plaque style tag. Optional clear panel tucked just inside 

back walls supports tallest stems. Card expands forward to provide 

its own display stand, then compresses “flat” for storage or to deliver. 

Measures approx. 6” wide x 8.75” x 3” deep when standing.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:

A left (bottom-up slot) cascade shape in two parts to join

B right (top-down slot) cascade shape in two parts to join

Cascade wall accents group: 

1 double-panel main "front" section

2-6 left & right outer wall accents

added front panel (if accent paper is not cardstock,

cut 1 accent and 1 cardstock, then layer and join)

backside double-panel

C rosebud layered accents 6 left, 6 right

D 'A' added front panel pair stems/leaves

E '1' panel pair leaf stems

F '2' panel pair stems

G '3' panel single leaf stem

(NOT SHOWN '3' overlay panel to match cascade base)

If desired, also cut backside accent panels for panel #1.

2. Prepare left cascade base by bending back on perforation lines 

as shown - shorter bend as "mountain" fold, flange tab as "valley" fold.

Prepare right cascade in similar manner.

3. Join the add-on cascade panels to main cascade panels

by tucking tall section straight edge into angle of flange

with wall on top of flange, adjust so bottom and top edges

align properly, and glue in place.

4. Arrange the left and right panels in their "reversed Z"

and "Z" bended forms, then . . . 

. . . raise the right over the left so that down- and up-slots

align, then interlock the two walls, and . . .

. . . slide the right wall down until bottom straight

edges align and the arrangement can sit flat

on surface. 

5. Identify and become familiar with the wall number ID

for each outer face of the cascade base as

identified in this image. 

(Only right side is labeled; left is mirror image.)

These position numbers show

where the accent panels (with their stems/leaves) will

be placed. Particularly NOTE that panel #1 is a two-part

accent with a perforation and bend that will correspond

to the bend in the two-part front panel presented as

the two cascade panels are interlocked.

Also, "extra #1" accent will be placed behind #1 wall,

and #3 and #5 stems will be tucked inside the diamond

shaped "honeycomb" compartment back wall.

('B' indicates where the joined back accent panel goes.)

6. Prepare the six left- and six right-facing rosebuds

by layering the smaller front petal on top of the

wider base, so that . . . 

. . . outer curvy edges align where they correspond,

and gluing in place.

Here are the left and right bud units completed.

7. Identify the cut-in identification symbols on leaf

and stem units. The shape shown is the added "front"

stem 'A'.

8. Overlap the sepal prongs of each bud stem

over a bud unit so that the rounded bud bottom

is slightly above the sepal rounded bottom,

and glue together where the sepal overlaps.

NOTE that it is suggested that if a bud stem tips

left, as this one does, a "left tipping" bud be

added there.

Here are all the leaf or stem units with rosebuds attached.

9. Prepare to position and attach the leaf or stem units

under the corresponding accent panel. This image

shows the left leaf panel already under the panel,

and the right unit on top to demonstrate where it will

be positioned and attached, with "sprue" angled top edge

corresponding to the accent panel's top angle,

and bottom straight edges even.

with leaf sections attached, with inward edges aligned

next to the perforation line.

10. For single panels, the "sprue" will similarly be positioned

behind the panel, with inward edges lined up,

and top angle, bottom straight edges lined up,

demonstrated with panel and stem #2.

11. Repeat the alignment and attachment of

other bud stems and leaves. Here is #4.

Here is #6.

12. For #3 leaf stem, which will be tucked into

the honeycomb compartment #3 wall,

a camouflaging panel is placed over the green

"sprue" to help it blend with cascade wall.

(It can be left off if considered unnecessary.)

Do the same for leaf stems #5.

13. Reconfigure the interlocked left and right cascade

walls into their flattened and elongated form, then . . . 

. . . position the accent panel assemblies into their

appropriate positions. Here is the right 

outer wall arrangement.

(NOTE that the black panel is where the optional

'extra' panel #1 should be placed.)

Here is the left outer wall arrangement.

NOTE: study the following image to see where

the #3 single and #5 pair of stems will be positioned,

and insert/attach them with the cascade walls

in the semi-flattened position, if preferred.

14. Alternately, stand and "open" the honeycomb compartments

to insert the #3 assembly in side (behind) wall #3, 

next to the walls intersection perforation/slot edge, and . . . 

. . . insert the #5 assemblies inside (behind) walls #5.

15. Flatten the assembly to position accent #1,

centered and "bridging" across the front sections

of left and right cascade wall sections.

16. Prepare 'A' panel by bending the side flanges forward ("valley" fold),

and halves forward at center perforation ("mountain" fold). 

17. Position and attach the bud/stems behind the wall

with inward edges offset away from center perforation approx. .125".

(Bottom edges should be lined up.)

18. Apply adhesive to the flange tabs only,

then position over front of card, align bottoms,

then attach flanges in place.

19. For the back accent, bend leaf stems at center perforation

as "mountain" fold", bend wall accent as "valley" fold.

Reverse leaf unit (so that cut-in 'B' faces toward

front of card assembly), and position behind wall accent

with top and bottom alignment as previously done.

Leave unattached until clear panels are prepared

and positioned, in step #20.

20. Prepare clear support panels by affixing double-stick

tape on bottom 1/2" margin, then . . . 

. . . tuck panels between accent wall and leaf stems,

on each accent half, so that . . . 

. . . they overlap slightly at upper center.

Adjust and attach leaf stems to accent wall backside.

21. Position and attach BACK accent assembly

with center perforation aligned with cascade joint, etc.

22. With the cascade assembly complete,

the card can stand upright. For best effect,

when spreading the cascade honeycomb,

aim for approx. 2.5" to 3" from front to back.

Here is the completed cascade assembly. 

23. Prepare the front plaque by reversing face down

on work surface, locate vertical centerline, and score

with semi-sharp tool such as this spatula tool.

24. Bend back slightly along score line, then . . .

. . . position and attach to front of card assembly.

NOTE: double-stick foam squares are a good choice

for attaching plaque.
