Small-scale key-hole plates for embellishing
3D
containers or forms.
Included are vertical oval and corner-notched rectangle,
each made thick by stacking multiple card stock shapes,
then gluing together
the offset shapes
to complete a low-relief key plate.
Small “screw” holes (for
brads) and vintage-style
key slot offer realism.
(NOTE the lock plate shown on the pear
is the metal version from the Tim Holtz set
as a suggested use;
the cardstock versions replicate the metal plates.)
Specifically coordinated for
use with “Pear 3D Vessel” project.
Each measures approx. 1.5” (oval) or 1.35”
tall.
These cardstock lock plates correspond in size to
the Tim Holtz embellishments,
shown here as side-by-side options for the Pear 3D Box.
ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes
(corresponding letters shown for both versions):
A base plate (3-4 to stack for thickness)
B middle layer accent (3-4 to stack for thickness)
C top layer
for dimensional thickness, taking care to align

on top of it to assist) until the glue is completely
dried (this may require hours),
to avoid warping or curling/cupping of the assembly.
