Partridge Shaped Gift Tag

Shaped tag with single tie-on hole can be
unique finishing touch on any package.
Small pieces layered onto unit silhouettes
when possible; enlarge tag size if desired.
Optional back layer bends away at perforation lines
to reveal writing space.
Especially appropriate for the first gift of
Twelve Days of Christmas surprises.
Pairs perfectly with “Pear 3D Vessel” project.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A shaped tag front
B optional shaped tag back with perforation bend
C partridge build-on silhouette and body
D neck band with overlay and heart
E "mask" with base mask/beak, eye circle
F plume accents and bases
G wing and over-wing accent
H tail and wing feathers build-on base
I tail feathers array    J wing feathers array
2. Complete some of the unit assembly for
head crest plume, mask/eye/beak, neck bands,
wing with over-wing.
Here those units have been composed
and glued together.
3. Complete the wing and tail feathers assembly
onto silhouette base; NOTE that for the sample tag,
the silhouette base shows-thru as both
the bottom tail feather and bottom wing feather,
as can be seen in the next image.
4. Position and attach the wing unit onto the feathers
silhouette, with common edges abutted snuggly.
5. Position the feathers/wing assembly onto
the partridge body base where edges correspond
and match.
6. Position and attach: a) the head plume unit at top
of silhouette where edges align; b) mask/beak/eye
unit where beak and head back edges match;
c) neck bands with back lower edge at
head-to-back angle, then adjusted for front neck
edge alignment; d) heart at "breast".
7. Position and attach Partridge assembly onto
tag front, with narrow offset all around,
except at center top where tab is.
8. Prepare the optional back tag shape by bending
upper portions above perforation
forward as "valley" folds.
Position tag front and back with backsides together,
and attach ONLY the portions above perforations,
so that the back tag can pivot open to reveal interior.
9. Attach a length of hang twine or ribbon as desired.
