Several
layers are cut then carefully glued together
and pressed flat until dried to
create a thick,
two-dimensional and elegant hanging snowflake.
Sized to
coordinate with “Tree 3D Beam Triangle Frame”
where it can hang within the A
frame of that standing decoration.
Snowflake measures approx. 3.5” wide x
3.143” tall.
ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
snowflake - 7-8 to layer and glue for thickness
(the sample project imitates plywood with white
front and back layers, 5 kraft interior layers)
and attach second layer, quickly checking and adjusting
the two layers to ensure that ALL cut edges are
aligned as precisely as possible (here and throughout).
3. Continue to add the snowflake shapes in
appropriate order, taking care to adjust for precision,
until all are eventually glued into a stack.
HINT: it may be a good procedure to glue and attach
4 layers, then press flat until dried before adding
the remainder.
all layers are aligned and joined, press the stack
under a flat heavy object such as a thick book,
possibly with something heavy on top, until it is
thoroughly dried. Pressing is essential when gluing
with liquid adhesive in multiple layers to help prevent
warping or curling.
5. Add studs or jewels as desired, and a hanging
array or hook. This snowflake is prepared to be
the "dangler" for the Tree 3D Beam Triangle Frame.
