Hearts & Flags A2 Card

Here’s a great chance to feature favorite papers
and prints: a trio of hearts layered over double-pointed
paper “ribbons” in simple Valentine style.
Or, for extra charm, substitute a “Heart Ornament
Ombre Stitched” (separate design) element in place
of the lower center heart.
Card measures approx. 4.25” wide x
5.5” tall when side-fold closed.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A card base with side fold perforation
B card front panel
C, D & E accent hearts
F flags trio
G positioning guide: flag indents across top,
heart upper, side edges through center
2. Use the positioning guide placed over the front
accent panel at top to gauge or lightly pencil mark
where the top edges of each of the three flag shapes
are (suggested) to be placed. NOTE that
the flag lengths are placed shortest at left edge,
longest at right edge. (Remove guide before
attaching flags in position.)
3. Position and attach each flag in position with
straight top edge even with panel top edge,
side edges parallel with panel sides.
4. Reposition guide at top of front panel assembly,
then position and attach top heart in cut out
position (guide does not necessarily need
to be removed during the positioning and
gluing process.) Next, position and attach
the middle heart where the right side cut out
edge corresponds with upper right lobe.
Finally, use the short curved edge of cut out
at left edge to position bottom heart,
taking care the heart's vertical center
is parallel to panel side edge. Attach in place.
Remove positioning guide.
5. Finish the card by positioning and attaching
the front panel assembly onto the front area
of the folded card base, with narrow offset
margins all around.
(If using liquid glue, consider pressing the assembly
under a heavy flat weight until glue is thoroughly
dried, to minimize warping and curling.)
6. If desired, complete the "Heart Ornament
Ombre Color Cross Stitch" separate design to
position as replacement for the lowest heart.
Find that project tutorial HERE.
(NOTE that the stitched ornament is larger
than the heart from the card design.)
Here is finished design with stitched heart
ornament, tied with twine bow.
