Cherries Basket Quilt Block Card

Square folded card features two offset front panels 

with patchwork inspired triangles handle basket 

with cherry circles and leaf decorations. 

“Chaser” contrast borders frame on-point center panel 

with lace arch corners. 

Card measures approx. 5.75” x 5.75” folded. 

Further embellish with one of tags from 

“Tags Cherry Phrases Print Cut” separate designs, 

tied around one of basket uprights. 

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:

A card base   B accent front panel 1

C accent front panel 2 (includes mid-edge guides for D)

D chaser borders base "square"

E chaser contrast border and 4 separate corners

F center "diamond" panel (with position marks for H)

G corner lacy accents (4)

H basket base (shows through as handle)

I basket lower body    J basket triangles accent

K cherries (7) and leaves (3)

L cherries & leaves placement guide

2. Prepare the chaser panel by centering the main contrast

shape on top of the chaser base, and attaching.

Then . . .

. . . position and attach a separate corner unit at

each corner position to complete the chaser pattern.

3. Position and attach the chaser panel on top

of front accent panel 2, with blunt-cut point edges

aligned flush with panel 2 edges (edge guide marks

will help with positioning, if needed).

4. Prepare the basket unit by positioning the triangles

accent on top of the main basket shape so that lower

single triangle base edge reaches point to point where

the bottom basket "foot" shape angles are, with

top and double triangle side point also reaching edges.

Then position the prepared main unit on top of

handle unit with matches edges aligned, and attach.

5. Identify the side point guide marks and short dashed

line base guide marks on the "diamond" front panel, 

then . . .

. . . position and attach the basket unit with corresponding

points and base edge aligned with guide marks.

6. Position the placement guide shape over the basket

block unit, with bottom and angled side edges aligned

with basket shapes and use temp tape to hold in place.

Insert cherries and leaves where guide openings

indicate and glue in place to front panel. Next . . .

. . . carefully lift position guide shape away from

front panel, making sure cherries and leaves remain

in place and attached.

7. Position and attach basket front panel unit over

the chaser/panel 2 unit so that front square covers

chaser contrast panel "square" edges precisely,

leaving only the chaser "squares" and corners exposed.

8. Position each lacy accent corner, centered,

along the chaser panel edge. Use panel 2 corner

to help center, then attach in place.

9. Position and attach the front panel assembly onto

front accent panel 1 with even narrow margin exposed.

10. Fold card base along center perforation line.

Position and attach front panels assembly onto

front of card base with narrow, even margin all around.

11. If desired, print & cut and prepare one of the accent

tags from "Tags Cherry Phrases Print Cut" (separate

design). Attach twine with knot and bow, then position

and attach at basket handle as shown.
