HoHo Block Box Ensemble Assembly Guide

Tall box (approx. 3.5" wide x 7.25" tall x 2" deep) displays the 'H'
and smaller box (3.25" wide x 4.5" tall x 2" deep) displays the 'O'
in the form of a swirl candy and bar.
Boxes are constructed as LID and BASE that fit closely together,
contrast accent front panel.
Whimsical and festive for shelf or mantel display.

ASSEMBLY:  1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A tall box (#2 ID notations) LID
B LID boxing strips (cut 2)
C tall box BASE   D BASE boxing strips (cut 2)
E reinforcing 'strut' strips (cut 2)
F decorative front panel
G 'H' letter cut
H short box (#2 ID notations) LID
I LID boxing strips (cut 2)
J short box BASE   K BASE boxing strips (cut 2)
L reinforcing 'strut' strips (cut 2)
M decorative front panel
N swirl circle base
O swirl front    P  line bar
2. You can identify, if necessary, the boxing strips
that should attach to LID or BASE (includes symbol)
by locating the ID number cut in the end tab . . .
. . . and the symbol cut that indicates BASE boxing strip.
Also note that the BASE 'back' shape can be distinguished
from the LID 'front' shape because BASE includes the
'2' or '3' ID number cut.
Please NOTE that the following box assembly images
demonstrate a different box shapes. However,
construction steps are the same for both size/shape
boxes used in this ensemble.
3. Prepare the boxing strips by bending tabs back,
and strip back at all perforation lines.
4. Position and attach the LID rectangle long edge
to the corresponding tab of one boxing strip,
taking care to line up the perforation line and straight edge,
and also top and bottom rectangle edges at
corresponding strip bends/perf lines.
5. Bend the second half of the boxing strip into position
to attach the adjacent front rectangle edge in the same fashion.
NOTE that it may be easier to apply pressure along the edges
being joined by turning the assemble face down on a flat table surface
and pressing along the seam.
6. Position and attach the second LID boxing strip end tab
at the straight end edge of the first strip.
7. Bend the unattached boxing strip edge tabs, one by one,
into position to attach to the corresponding straight edges.
As the final side is being aligned for attachment,
position and attach the final boxing strip straight end
and end tab.
8. Follow these same steps (above 3-7) to assemble
the matching box BASE, using the appropriate BACK rectangle
and boxing strips.
9. Prepare the reinforcing strut strips by bending end tabs
back, bending back at center perf line.
10. Insert one strip into the BASE at one end,
and attach tabs to walls where they line up.
Repeat for the second strut strip.
11. Prepare the decorative front panels by
positioning the letter cutout, or swirl with base and bar (centered) onto
the decorative front panel.
12. Apply adhesive (dry will be better to avoid warping)
to backside of panel, then position and attach to LID front,
with offset margin even all around.
NOTE that it will be easier to attach front panel
completely by turning it over on flat surface
and applying finger pressure from the backside.
13. Complete assembly of the 'block' by fitting the LID
over the BASE shape . . .
. . . and applying adhesive between the side walls.
Here is the finished ensemble.
