Tote Mini Two Ghirard Choc Squares

Create this small-scale carrier to hold your gift of a pair
of Ghirardelli wrapped chocolate squares
in snug pockets on front and back,
where tiny heart add-ons can set the mood.
(May also fit other wrapped candies such as
peppermint patties, etc.)
Separate shapes allow for fun and efficient
paper pattern combinations.
Optional front triangle wrap-on overlay
presents the illusion of an envelope front.
Add ribbon or other embellishments as desired.
Let the kids have fun mixing and matching shapes
then assisting with the quick assembly for
Valentine gifting.
Suitable as dining place card or table treats.
Tote measures approx. 3” wide x 3.5” tall x
.625” deep when assembled.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A center fold-in-half divider
B pockets panel for front & back
C optional top-flange front overlay (2)
D heart accent (2)
Also shown: sample Ghirardelli chocolate square
that fits in the pockets
2. Fold back the center support at the cross perforation,
apply adhesive to backside of one of the panels, then
press together, taking care to accurately align all cut edges.
Press under a heavy flat weight until glue is dry.
3. Prepare the double pockets panel by bending
back on all perforation lines for panels, base panel,
side flanges and tabs.
4. If you choose to use the front "faux envelope"
overlays, first bend the top tab back on perf line.
Then apply adhesive to backside of panel and tab.
5. Slip the top tab over the lowest center portion of
each front panel angle, adjust to be centered with
bottom straight edge more or less aligned with
pocket front lower edge, then press to glue in place.
6. Position and attach the heart accents, if desired.
Press the assembly under heavy flat object until
glue is dry.
7. Prepare to form the double pockets by applying
dabs of glue to the two tabs on each small tab extending
at the bottom of each side pocket boxing.
Bend the side boxing panels back into place and
in the same process bend each end section back
until long side tabs are side by side. Apply pressure
to attach the glued up tabs to the bottom panel.
Repeat for both sides.
8. Flex the pockets as slightly as possible and
apply glue to each of the two long side flanges,
and repeat for the opposite side of assembly.
Then immediately . . .
. . . slide the center support in between the two
flanges and push fully in until it stops at bottom panel.
Adjust so that side boxing/flange edges align with
center support as precisely as possible. Apply pressure
to secure in place, then move to complete the second
side. NOTE if may be helpful to insert something that
is narrower than pocket depth to insert behind the pocket
flange seam to assist with applying pressure from
each pocket until seams are secure.
9. Finish up the treat by inserting a chocolate square
(or equivalent) inside each pocket.
Tie a ribbon bow through hang hole as desired.
