Venice Lace Oval Frame Card

Delicate lattice background with lacy
and plain oval frames, picot edge create a unique card
to send greetings for varied occasions.
Back card includes top perforations to attach
to upper edge of front to stand for display.
Cover the back oval cutout with an opaque vellum panel
(or use the optional filled-in back panel shape).
Cut double layers of frame components for strength.
Add cut paper flowers or
purchased flowers as decorations
Add the arch leaf shape from
“Leaf Sprigs Cross Form and Arch” cut file.
Card measures approx. 5” x 7” when closed.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A card front (2 layers for strength)
B front oval lacy frame (2 layers for strength)
C card front plain oval frame (2 layers for strength)
D card back with top perforations
(2 layers for strength)
E back vellum oval to fill in "window"
2. Layer and attach together the card front lattice base shapes,
taking care to align and match up ALL cut edges.
To help prevent warping or curling when using liquid
adhesives, consider pressing under a heavy, flat weight
such as this fabric-covered re-purposed free weight bar,
until completely dried.
Do this for each layered and glued-up shape.
3. Layer and attach together the oval lacy frame shapes.
4. Layer and attach the plain oval frame shapes.
5. Position and attach the lacy oval frame assembly
onto the card front, taking care to align the oval window
cut edges as precisely as possible.
6. Do the same with the plain oval frame.
7. To prepare to layer and attach the back lattice card
layers, identify the tiny perforation cuts in the lattice
that are just below the outer frame "bar".
Carefully bend forward at each perf. cut (at lattice ends
and at side frame "ends"). Repeat for additional
build-up layers.
8. Layer both back card lattice frame cut shapes
so that ALL cut edges align, and "nest" together the bends
at the perforations, and glue together.
9. Position and attach the vellum window fill-in shape
on the inside face of the back card assembly.
10. Using the top margin of back card assembly as
the "flange", position and attach the back card to
the top of front card, taking care to align cut edges
of frame and picot lacy edge.
When the top edge attachment is completed,
the card assembly should appear like this.
11. Add embellishments and decorations to the card
front as desire. Here, the leaf sprig arch (from separate
design download) is positioned near the oval window edge.
Here is the sample card with added florals and sprigs
that were purchased.
(This is the floral flower pack that was used,
from Hobby Lobby.)
