a 19" long x approx. 6" tall x 2.25" ensemble
featuring ten separate paper craft designs:
letter boxes 'B' with honeycomb
overlay, 'L' , 'O' and 'M'; dimensional honeybee on
a wire; 3d daffodil on dowel stem; 3d terra cotta pot;
watering can; 3d crocus; 3d gardener's hat; and
3d garden spade.
Closeups of the various elements include
the tutorial links for assembly:
Letter Box L (upright only) and 3d Daffodil
Letter Box M with 3D Crocus and 3d Gardener's Hat
Here are a few more details and construction tips:
1. B LETTER BOX with Honeycomb Overlay:
cut and build as described; for ensemble design that
uses a top mount, cut the substitute Base B back
with trap door and seal,
and the interior reinforcement strut;
for side mount, use the gluing tab.
2. BEE 3D FIG FLAT BACK:
cut and build as described; cut and attach
a slightly longer wire, for options (approx. 20"),
then shape and trim as desired.
3. GARDEN SPADE 3D FORM:
cut and build as described. Position on an angle
in front of B Letter Box, and glue in place.
(NOTE: that there are other locations
where the spade may work well.)
4. L LETTER BOX: cut and build only the vertical
box with overlay.
5. 3D DAFFODIL FLOWER:
cut and build as described, using the long
"for Bloom Ensemble" longer stem and
optional shorter leaves.
6. MINIATURE 3D FLOWER POT:
cut and build as described.
Orient the pot onto the mounting base
so that wide points are at sides.
7. O LETTER BOX with Button Flower Overlay:
cut and build as described with flower overlay.
Center and glue rims to top of Flower Pot.
8. WATERING CAN 3D TAPERED VESSEL:
cut and build as described.
Cut and prepare the offset 'O', accent 'O'
with leafy arcs decorations (from the O Letter Box file).
9. M LETTER BOX: cut and build as described
using the optional M front vertical rectangle and
extended edge overlay to create the pocket tube
that will accept the stem of the Crocus 3D Flower.
10. CROCUS 3D FLOWER: cut and build as described
using the longer stem and shorter leaf lengths
labeled for the BLOOM ensemble. Tuck the stem into
the pocket tube and glue in place before adding leaves.
11. GARDEN 3D HAT MINIATURE: cut and build
as described. Test the "hanging" position on the right end
hump of the M Letter Box, then apply glue neatly and
invisibly to areas that touch, and attach in place.
PLATFORM BASE STRIP:
The model project elements are glued onto a form core
base that is cut approx. 2.25" wide x 19.5" which has been
covered by burlap that is thoroughly glued in place on top,
bottom, narrow front and back, and ends.
HINT: use a long strip of scrap paper to transfer the "footprint"
of each letter box, flower pot, water can as they are
aligned according to your own plan, with minimum
spacing between. Use paper guide to cut foundation
to needed length, then use hot melt or Fabri-Tack glue
to attach each element in place, centered on the platform
