Candy Boxes Divided Tray with Sleeve

Dress up dipped chocolates or other treats with

these professional confectioner’s presentation containers. 

Long version is designed to hold up to 5 candies 

with approx. 1.375” diameter footprint each. 

Small version holds just 2 candies for perfect place card

treat at luncheon or dinner place setting.

Both boxes include tray with folded-inward full-length 

inner walls for sturdy, self-lined structure. 

Optional "liner" divider is prepared in series of valley-mountain-valley

 folds to create walls, then insert into tray. 

Window panel of sleeve is likewise lined with clear vinyl

or acetate panel, then the tray slides snugly into sleeve.

Long box ensemble measures approx. 7.75” long 

x 1.5” wide x 1.3” tall when completed. 

Short box ensemble measures approx. 

3” long x 1.375” wide x 1.625” tall when completed.

The long candy box version will be described in

this tutorial. The short individual two-candy portion

design follows the same procedures,

in smaller size.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:

A box tray hull   B end wall inner add-on

C divider insert (NOTE this shape has been modified

to have shorter divider walls, and is a single cut shape)

D sleeve   E sleeve clear window panel

2. Prepare the box tray by bending back on perforation lines

for bottom, sides and ends, inward wall "liners".

Bend forward on end tab and smaller side tabs.

3. Prepare the end addition in similar manner,

bending the attachment tab (shown here on left end)

back.

4. Position (centered) and attach the add-on to 

the appropriate end of main tray shape, 

by overlapping main straight edge

over the add-on attachment tab.

5. Apply adhesive to the long side walls of tray,

then bend inward, and apply pressure to 

fuller attach in place as shown.

6. Apply adhesive to the tray end wall, and the bend-over

inner wall "liner" panel, as well as . . . 

. . . the end tab and side end tabs.

7. To keep end side tabs from interfering or

spreading glue inappropriately, bend back out of the way.

Bend side long side walls inward to perpendicular,

bend end wall upward to perpendicular and attach.

Bend inner wall liner over and inward, so that end tab is

snug at bottom crease, then attach in place.

Also apply pressure to end tab to attach to bottom of

tray, and . . .

 . . . bend end side tabs outward to attach

to side inner walls. Repeat for second end.

8. Prepare sleeve by bending back on all long 

perforation lines for walls and long flange.

9. Apply double-sided tape adhesive around window

opening on backside of sleeve, then position (centered)

clear window panel, and attach in place.

10. Form sleeve into a tube to align and join seam

with straight edge overlapped across flange to align

at perforation line. 

NOTE that the sleeve can be flatted on work surface

to allow fingertip pressure to be applied along seam edge

to ensure complete seam.

REMINDER: divider inserts have been modified

to have shorted divider walls, and complete in 1 strip.

11. Identify the segments of the divider strip by

locating the half circle notch cutouts on edge.

These segments are the compartment "floor" portion.

Two segments in between are joined back-to-back

to form divider walls.

12. Review this diagram to see which direction the divider

wall perforations are folded, then fold accordingly.

13. Apply glue to one panel of the two-panel "wall",

then . . . 

. . . press together the wall panels and apply pressure

to the whole wall panel to ensure adhesion.

Repeat for the remaining 3 walls.

14. Slide the divider insert into the box tray.

15. Complete the box assembly by sliding the tray

into the sleeve - this is a tight fit.

Here is the completed box tray with insert and sleeve.

If desired, decorate the top of the sleeve with

a sticker, including this individualized initial seal

design.
