DAD Stacked Letters Pop Card

Four “slices” are reconfigured to align directly
in a column to allow bottom tabs to fit
into sturdy base with slots.
Front slice is decorated with “D” “A” & “D”
plus leafy stems, shaded oval berries to celebrate
Father’s Day, birthday, or other commemorative
or festive occasions.
Folded flat, card assembly can fit into 5x7 envelope
for neatly packaged giving.
Coordinated “Env Leaf Berry” envelope
design is also available.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A front "offset" panel   B letters overlays for "D A D"
C front pop up panel (with attachment tabs at bottom)
D center pop up panels (2) with flat bottom edges
E back pop up panel (with bottom positioning nib)
F back offset panel overlay
G "bridge" strips which connect slice panels (4)
H base panel with nib slots   I reversed base bottom panel
J base overlay with slots for attaching front pop up panel
K opt. sentiment panel to place on base bottom
L & M berry base with overlay (3 sets of each style)
N sprigs large and single

NOTE that assembly of this card is very similar
to the "MOM Stacked Letters Pop Card". Most of
the steps can be followed from that tutorial by
following this LINK.

2. Go to the "MOM" card post to complete Step 2, then
refer to the following illustrations and photos as substitutes
for Steps 3-6. Complete Step 7 as shown for "MOM" card.

3. Position the tall sprig at left bottom and side where
offset front panel overlay indicates tip and first leaf
will fit, and attach the 2 leaves and below ONLY.
4. Position and attach the lower 'D'.
5. Prepare to attach the 'A' by threading
the vine up through the "hole" of the 'A' . . .
. . . and sliding the letter down into it's
final position, and attach 'A' there.
Before gluing the vine down the stem end
of the two smaller vine branches will need to be
tucked under the vine, so leave it free for a bit.
6. Position the top 'D' in place, taking care
that the vine leaves overlap the letter
as shown, then attach remaining shapes
in place.
Finally, tuck the upper short vine stem under
the 'A' upper body, with upper leaves overlapping
the top 'D'. Then position . . .
. . . the lower short stem overlapping the bottom of 'A'.
Tuck the ends of both these shorter vine stems
under the original main vine and glue all remaining.
Refer to Step 7 of "MOM" card to assemble and position
the berries (DAD card has more berries).
Here is how the "DAD" card front panel should appear.

Return to the "MOM" card version by following the LINK
to complete the remaining steps through
Step 19 to complete the card assembly.

Bendy Multi Panel Photo Card

Alternating perforation folds create squares and triangles that allow
this dimensional card to fold and stack so it can be compressed
and decoratively tied for giving.
Use various offset panels to decorate spaces,
including some plain enough for penning a message.
Connect your card to specific events or holidays
by using square panel shape as template to focus
and trim photo reprints to present a memories card.
(Photo panels would be cut to approx. 3.5” x 3.5”.)
Format allows for 3-4 photo squares on front and
an optional 4 more on back.
Card measures approx. 3.75x3.75 when folded.
This multipurpose card can be used over and over
by adding the size-matched welded word cuts
(“Love You Dad”, “Congrats New Dad”, “Spooky Halloween”
or “Christmas Elves”) on the front square panel
to introduce a set of themed photograph panels.

A coordinated size envelope design with
discs twine closure is also available.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A main card body & B add-on card body
C front plain panel
D triangle panels for divided squares (6 pair)
E photo square trimming template
*F photo reprints for trimming to size
(3 for front, opt. 4 for back)
G opt. triangle panels for divided squares back(6 pair)
*edit or modify original 4x6 print files, then have them
reprinted so that a 3.5"x3.5" square
of selected portion of photo can be marked and
trimmed to size
2. Prepare the card body sections by bending on perforation
lines following this notated diagram (NOTE this image has
a optical illusion quality to it - so follow text, not visual clues.)
3. Position add-on flange tabs along the right end edge
as shown, underlap the main panel edges and attach in place.
4. Position and attach the plain front panel with
offset margins all around within the left end square
panel as defined by cut edges and perforations.
5. Position and attach accent triangles in similar manner,
with long edges very slightly away from diagonal
perforation.  Repeat this step for the remaining
edge and perforated panels on the front side.
Complete the backside of bendy base in the same manner.
6. Prepare the photo panels by either using the 3.5"x3.5"
template or use the template shape when being set up
for cutting to cut a "window" which can be used to
sample image placement, then corners marked,
then rotary, art knife or scissors trimmed.
If available, use a small radius corner trimmer
to round the corners of the photos.
7. Apply photo-friendly adhesive to the photo backside . . .
. . . then position on the square panels located
across the center of the card base, with offset
narrow margin all around between photo edge
and square-defining perforations.
Repeat for the remaining photos and squares.
8. If desired, decorate the "front" panel, including
using the sized-to-fit sentiment welded word designs
such as the "Congrats NEW Dad" design included on sample.
Assemble the "Congrats" front panel element
as follows: position and attach the "Congrats"
and "Dad" contrast cut outs onto . . .
. . . "NEW" silhouette base.
Position and attach the assembly onto plain front panel.
9. With accent shapes and photos in place, re-fold
the card into its "stacked" form.
10. Wrap the compressed (stacked) card with twine
or raffia. If desired, prepare the "Env Discs Twine Closure"
coordinated envelope.

Father's Day Box Card Assembly Tutorial

Full of dimension, this box card
(or "card in a box" as the style is sometimes described)
will delight the Dad in your life.
Attach accent squares and rectangles to the box base
(which has NO bottom so it can still fold flat for inserting
in an envelope), attach the inside-the-box bridge strips,
assemble the content shapes,
add a TO: tag to the front with glue and decorative brad,
then relish the reaction of your recipient!
Impressive to look at, it is surprisingly simple to assemble!

ASSEMBLY STEPS:
1. Begin with the box base, accent pieces and bridge strips. My sample is colored as follows:

kraft brown - box base
kraft brown - box bridge pieces
(NOTE this image shows bridge as single piece; it is two rectangles with perforated end tags in the cut file)
black/white stripe - outside bottom accent pieces
multi dot - box flap accent pieces

2. Glue the outer box accent "squares" and rectangles into place on the outside lower spaces of the box card base shape. The tall rectangle is the back section of the box. Bottom edge of all pieces lines up with box base lower edges. Other accent edges are slightly offset within the box base shape.

3. Glue the upper inside flaps onto corresponding spaces. These shapes are offset at upper and side edges. Bottom edges should line up exactly at the lower edge of back (tall rectangle), and center perforation (other flaps).

4. Fold the side tab inward on perforation. Fold the box base into a "tube". Line up the side tab with opposite corresponding lower edge, and glue in place with tab on the inside of the box.

5. Fold end tabs back on each of the two bridge strips. Apply adhesive to the tab ends of first bridge strip. Position the bridge inside the box's interior space, about 1/3 back from the front. Top edge of bridge tabs should be flush or even with the perforation edges of the box.

Continue to step 6 before glue is dried, to allow for adjustments, if necessary.

6. Fold the card base flat with the first bridge strip in place. Apply finger pressure to flatten the bridge/flap crease between the card outer layers to make sure card will close to this flat position.

7. Repeat to attach the second bridge strip, positioning it 1/3 in from the back of the box, which is half way in the space between box interior back and first bridge strip. Repeat step 6 after this second bridge is in place, but before glue is dried and beyond adjusting.

8. Assemble the decorative pieces as shown. For this project, the edges were lightly distressed with pumice ink. The fish in the finished cut file was reduced slightly from the fish shown in this layout.

Fish stripes are created by nested shapes in order: green bottom, brown, rust, green top layer.

TIP: Golf tee will be sturdier if a second "full" shape is added behind the "full" base shape.

9. If you plan to use a brad to attach the front plaque to front flap, select, cut and glue in place the flap accent that includes the punch hole. Use a sharp tool like this awl to punch the accent hole through the box base front flap layer.

10. Glue the front plaque to the box front flap with punch holes aligned. Push brad through the holes and bend prongs flat.

11. Attach the "Love you" unit onto the upright back box section.

12. Audition the positioning of the monitor, so you will know where to place attaching dimensional squares or glue.

13. For dimension, add foam adhesive squares where the monitor will overlap the box back flap, generally as shown here. Or use regular "flat" adhesive method. Place shape onto back flap.

14. Audition and then position and glue other decor shapes in place. Shirt & tie is positioned on the front of the back bridge, with fish behind the same bridge.

15. Position wrench to the right, golf tee to the left on the front bridge.

16. As decor shapes are glued in place, fold the box base into flat position to make sure the box will still fold when needed.

This is the position that the card should be in when placed into an envelop, if you plan to use one to hold the finished card.

And here is the finished box card
with all of the assembled parts in place.

More box card designs will be added to the SnapDragon Snippets portfolio
soon. We hope you will check our regular outlets to find and create with these.
Also, SVG Attic may include a coordinated, sized to fit envelope design
to cut and use as part of your gift.

Father's Day Golf Bag Slider Tab Assembly Tutorial

This original side folding golf bag shaped card
will be a wonderful surprise gift to a golfing father
for Father's Day, available soon from
SnapDragon Snippets and SVG Attic.
Sized to fit a standard no. 10 envelope, (approx. 4" x 9"),
this tall card isfull of details that shape the bag and club heads.
A sliding arrow-head tab slides out right to spell out
"FORE". Open the card and read the play-on-words
sentiment: "FORE - tunately for me, you're my Dad!"

Special layers between the detailed bag front and the card base
make up the slot assembly to allow tab to slide in and out.
Following are a few images to demonstrate how these layers are assembled
to make it possible for the tab to slide out to the right to show "FORE".

HOW TO PREPARE THE SLIDER MECHANISM:
1. Here are the cut shapes that are involved in the moving part of this card.

TOP ROW: slider tab with F O R E shapes in place. (NOTE: that design has been changed for final cut file so that arrow finger tab is centered.)

BOTTOM ROW: l to r
shapes base layer
slots layer
card base, folded

2. Position slider tab over the slots layer. Flex the assembled slider tab so that each arm can slot into the side slot. Slide it up and down to make sure it moves freely.

3. Turn slots layer over. Note where the dashed guidelines are above and below the slider tabs and inserted arms, and at the center three-sided square.

4. Adhesive should be applied ONLY above the upper dashed line, below the lower dashed line, between the center section  dashed lines pair, including at the edge center edge of the slot layer.

5. Position and glue this layer over the front of the card front. The shaped edges are offset to lie slightly inside of the card front shaped edges. The straight "center" edge should align at the perforation of the base shape.

6. Apply glue to the shapes base (top assembly) layer to allow the tab to move freely. Here you see that adhesive is above and below the dashed guidelines, and along the "inner" edge very near to the straight edge.

7. Position the shapes base layer over the slots layer so that outer edges ALL line up exactly.

When in place, make sure that the slider can move in and out freely, without adhesive inadvertently attaching any part of the slider. Make adjustments, if necessary.

At this point in the assembly process, the remainder of the golf bag details can be assembled and added. Refer to the thumbnail and the cut file as opened for layering and assembly guidance.

Decor shapes assembly include:
a. layer strap and handle shapes, including end pieces and rivet circle punches
b. layer front pocket, upper side pocket
c. layer golf club shapes.

Hope you enjoy this card design. It is sized to fit into a standard business no. 10 envelope.
