Votive Tea Light Holder Pair

Nestle a standard (approx. 1.5” diam.) LED votive tea light
within the slotted-together eight-spokes “cup” recess
on layered and edge-slotted disc.
Suspend pendant from peg wrack, chandelier, or wreath interior.
Designed to coordinate with “Tree 3D Beam Triangle Frame”
to dangle within triangular interior. A slightly larger, surface-resting cup is also included
for a multitude of decorative situations,
or placed on the bottom of Tree 3D Beam Triangle Frame

Hanging holder measures approx. 2.83” wide
x 2.83” deep x 4.37” tall (hanger).
Sitting holder measures approx. 3.5” wide
x 3.5” deep x 2” tall.

PRE-ASSEMBLY INFO:
Hanging votive design and sitting design
are assembled in nearly-identical steps.
The hanging votive will be shown in tutorial steps,
almost exclusively.

A. Test the card stock you plan to use for the votive
to verify the quantity of layers that will be needed to
fit into the slots. In this image, the 5 layers of the "wings"
shape are layered and fit into the disc slot.
Best practice will be to have it be snug, but the "dry fit"
layers should have a bit of play to allow for glue up.
If more than 5 layers are needed, adjust cutting quantity.
B. The design is sized to fit the standard 1.5" diameter
LED votive readily available. As can be seen,
1.5" is actually a generous measurement.
If your LED votive is actually 1.5" in diameter,
you may need to experiment with very slight
enlargement (such as 103% to 105% at a time).

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes
for the HANGING VOTIVE:
A wing shape down slot with attached hanger arch (5)
B wing with up slot (5)
C half-wing shape array: 3 plain, left & right with tab
(4 sets)
D disc platform with edge slots (3-4)
E wing shape down slot (5)
F wing with up slot (5)
G disc platform with edge slots (3-4)
C half-wing shape array: 3 plain, left & right with tab
(4 sets)
2. Layer wing shapes into a stack, and glue together,
taking care that all cut edges - especially slot edges -
are a precisely aligned as possible.
(This image shows wing shapes for sitting votive cup;
layer and glue together in the same manner for
hanging votive arch and plain wing shapes.)
(This image shows pressing for snowflake design.)
Press the glued-together wing stacks under a heavy flat
object such as this thick book volume, with something
else heavy on top if needed for sufficient weight.
3. Position down slot plain wing assembly under arch
and perpendicular to the up slot arch wing stack,
then fit slots together and . . .
. . . slide the two slots together until . . .
. . . bottom straight edges align and top cup
edges align. Adjust wings so that they
are perpendicular to each other.
4. Layer the disc platform shapes into a stack
and glue together, taking care to precisely align
all cut edges. Press flat with weight until thoroughly dry.
5. Apply glue to the edge of center cross (bottom
of cup cutout only), then . . .
. . . insert disc stack into center under arch.
Rotate until the 'X' of wings fits into appropriate
disc slots.
Then work disc downward until it rests snugly
on 'X' base.
Apply pressure and allow to dry in place.
6. Layer and stack three half wing shapes, taking care
to align all cut edges.
7. Bend tabs forward on left and right half wing
shapes with tabs, then apply glue and attach
corresponding one on front and one on back of
the half-wing stack, with all edges aligned
precisely, and inward vertical edge aligned with
tab's perforation line.
Make sure that end tabs remain unattached.
Press under a flat heavy object until thoroughly
dried. Prepare 4 total half-wing units.
8. Prepare to attach half wings in place on assembly
by adding adhesive to the inward faces of tabs . . .
. . . and also on the stack's thickened edge on
bottom of cup cutout.
9. Center first half wing unit halfway between whole wing
units,  then push it in toward crossed wing units . . .
. . . fitting wing upright edge into disc slot
while pushing fully into position.
Make sure that the tabs of half wing bend backward
slightly so they can attach to adjacent walls.
NOTE that it may be helpful to use a blade-like
tool pushed into perforation bend to help tab
settle snugly into angle.

This image shows the bottom of votive to demonstrate
how snugly the half-wings fit into angle of main wings.

10. Fit the LED votive candle into the recess
of the assembly and gently press downward.
Here is the completed hanging votive.

    1. You will need to contact the Silhouette America website and ask them. I only design files. I do not trouble shoot for customers. Sorry.
