Drac Peeking Cascade Card with 31 Medallion

This tall cascade card features interlocked zig-zag walls
that hold a haunted house at back,
rickety fence sections,
pair of bats suspended on clear vinyl wands,
layered dracula head with torso
and hands resting on plank fence, two-layer headstones.
(Separate design pointy medallion
with "31" numbers can be attached to
front panel as finishing touch.)
Make it colorful with varied Halloween paper prints.
Card walls accordion forward as self stand.
Card measures approx. 5" wide x 10.25" tall when flat.

ASSEMBLY:  1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A & B left card base with accent panels
C & D right card base with accent panels
E front accent panel
F back accent panel
G haunted house with add-on window & chimney caps
H contrast (show-thru) haunted house panel
I wall accent overlay   J wall base panel
K Drac base shape
L Drac parts: hair, face, eyes, fangs, mouth underlay,
ears/head, eye contrast, hands, collar overlay
M left and right bat with clear acrylic strip "wands"
N grave stone bases and accents
O left and right fence sections
2. Prepare the left (shown front) and right base
cascade panels by bending forward the end flange,
then joining to back end add-on panel with seam.
3. Bend the card bases into zigzag formation,
then preview how they fit together into the cascade
layout by fitting the two together at the top-down (left)
and bottom-up (right) slots.
Slide the two sections together until bottom edges
align to allow the card base to sit flat on surface.
When fully together, the card bases will
accordion apart as shown.
4. With the base panels together temporarily,
preview-position the accent panels into their positions
as shown with shortest in the "front-most" second
panel position (sample: orange square on point),
the middle tallest in the second outer position
(sample: fleur de lis), the tallest accent inside
the second diamond
cavity (sample: white dot on orange).
5. Move the panels and make notations with pencil
or chalk pencil near panel centers (where
the accents will cover marks) to help remember
where they will be positioned.
NOTE: a matched set of markings should be
penciled onto the mirror position so that
both left and right base panels have marks.
6. Un-assemble the base panels and attach
the panels to both LEFT and RiGHT base walls
in the positions noted with pencil.
(Shown here is the LEFT panel which holds
the short and tall accent panels as pencil-noted
in the preview image above.)
7. Re-assemble the left and right panels by
aligning slots and fitting together, with
bottom edges even. Now the paired accent panels
can be seen in their adjacent positions.
8. Position and attach the front panel to
the "blank" area on front of the assembly.
9. Position and attach the back accent panel
onto the assembly back.
10. Attach the contrast back panel behind
the haunted house panel.
Also attach the optional window overlay
and chimney caps if desired.
11. Spread the back "walls" slightly to allow
the bottom slot of house to fit over the center
intersection of back 'X' . . .
. . . then push house fully down,
straighten so that half circle cut symbols
near sides align near back wall top edge,
and glue together between the surfaces
that touch to secure the house in place.
12. Position each fence section behind
the second-front-back cascade wall
so that a small margin of "ground" below
fence cutouts shows above wall edge,
and glue in place.
13. Attach each bat to top of the appropriate left or
right clear acrylic strip "wand" using
an adhesive appropriate to attach to acrylic.
14. Tuck bottom wand end behind the "fleur
de lis" wall, push down so that bottom of wand
is even with card bottom (or adjust as preferred)
with want strip approx. 3/4" in from side,
and attach in place.
(Sample uses clear adhesive pads to attach
at bottom and near top of wall where
wand falls.)
15. Prepare the wall base by bending back
the side flanges.
Position and attach the wall overlay on front
of wall base.

16. Prepare the Drac unit.
A) position and attach collar shape over base shape
B) attach hair to top of face shape (with eye openings)
C) Tuck the fangs shape top edge under top edge
of mount opening  . . .
. . . and adjust to be centered, with curved edges
lined up; glue in place.
D) Position contrast mouth behind mouth opening . . .
. . . and glue in place to face unit backside.
E) Position and attach head/ears shape onto
base/collar assembly
F) Position face unit over head shape and attach.
G) Position and attach eye pupils inside eye openings.
H) Preview ONLY where the two hands will go
(these attach to wall later in assembly - DO NOT attach here.)
17. Position Drac unit behind wall, center, and . . .
. . . approx. 1/8" above the wall bottom edge.
18. Position and attach hands onto wall front as shown.

19. Insert wall unit into front "diamond" opening of cascade,
centering, and tucking down until bottom edges
are even; glue flanges to cascade wall.
20. Layer the gravestone fronts with
bases. Tuck behind front wall
at desired height, and glue in place.
21. If desired, position and attach
the separate design
"Halloween 31 Pointy Medallion"
onto front panel.

Dracula Peeking cascade card is complete.
A separate, custom sized envelope is available
for gifting this hand-made card.

    1. It is a format that has lots of scope - though I think the intention was to "keep it simple." Oh well.
