Pennant 3D Pocket and Larger Project

Rectangular pennant with sides that fold in to form
a pocket. Top has fold-over band with four punch holes
for threading ribbon. Front panel inner corners fold back
diagonally with offset shapes to add as accents.
Scalloped circle with three smaller offset circles
provide front decoration.

Use as a component in a banner ensemble.
Measures approx. 5” wide x 8.875” tall when folded and assembled.
Further embellish with the “Scalloped Rolled Cone 3D Rosette”
and “Shamrock 3D Pleat Rosette Ornament”.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A main pocket pennant shape  B top fold-over band
C inside back accent shape
D left and right diagonal flap accents
E-H front accent scallop and plain circles array
2. Prepare the main hull shape by bending back on
the hull side edge perforation, along bottom flange,
and forward along the diagonal front panel corner flaps.
3. Prepare the top band by bending back along the top
perforation line.
4. Position and attach both halves to the top of
the hull shape, taking care that it is centered
and that the hang-hole openings align.
6. Position and attach the center inside accent
shape with slight offset margin along the straight edges.
7. Position and attach the flap tip triangle accents
on the hull corners, with the straight edge . . .
. . . lined up along the perforation bend.
8. Prepare to join the bottom and front center seams
by bending the bottom flange inward, then the left
 half, then the right . . .
. . . attaching where these overlap.
NOTE: if desired, assist the flaps to retain some
dimension atop the main hull by adding a hot-melt glue
bead or foam squares tucked up near the crease.
9. Layer the scallop and plain circle shapes into a medallion.
10. Position and attach the medallion on the front
center of the pocket pennant below the flaps.
11. Add decorative ribbons through the holes,
or create several pockets for a pennant swag, etc.
12. The pocket pennant unit can be the base for
a more elaborate decoration that includes the postcard
decoration, shown here with a vintage postcard as
the center panel decoration.
Substitute the rolled cones rosette and the pleated
shamrock rosette to create a fancy seasonal decoration.
Here is another version of this decoration
with the LUCK mini pennants added across front.
