Stylish dimensional shoe replica can be used for display
or as a gift container. Left and
right vamp (upper) shapes
join together at toe, to sole, then to back heel panel.
Squared column stiletto attaches through
sole cutout opening,
with shaped upper contour “platform” providing visual transition.
Right toe vamp wraps over left, connected at alignment holes,
with overlay trim shapes at rim edges.
Use mini brads inserted in or
studs to cover holes.
Add liner accent shapes inside (which conceal
construction seams) and band to stiletto bottom tip.
Measures approx. 6” tall at
back x
5.625” long x 2.375” wide.
ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A sole B right upper (vamp) with toe wrap over
C right upper sectioned rim trim shapes
D left upper (vamp) E left rim trim
F heel panel G heel rim trim
H stiletto post (square tube)
I stiletto reinforcement strips with interlock slots
J stiletto bottom end strip
K-N stiletto top platform collar
Add back curl across the toe portion of the wrap
of the right vamp.
3. Position and attach the rim trim shapes to
the uppers. NOTE that the right upper trim shape
can be cut in two parts for paper use economy,
or one shape to avoid the center front join seam.
to the toe area at transition from center to toe.
5. Identify the positioning aid dash cuts on the sole
at the sides where transition from toe to middle is, and . . .
. . . at the center front of the toe.
at the toe tip to help it conform to the sole shape.
the edge of the sole, forming the upper to match
the tabs perforation edge. Allow to dry until secure.
9. Match the transition dash marks for sole and upper
at transition point then . . .
apply fingertip pressure along the seam from the inside.
the back straight edge of the sole, then align edge
at heel perforation (and slot) and join tab in place.
14. Curve the heel to match the edge of the upper,
match the top edges, and join the seam.
Repeat for the second side.
the tube.
fingertip pressure along the seam edge to assist the join.
positioning as shown with opposing slots, then . . .
. . . interlocking the slots and sliding downward . . .
20. Insert the tabs into the sole square cutout hole,
with the back tab at the heel edge of the opening.
On the inside, bend the tabs down and glue in place.
the short angle edge over the corresponding tab
to perforation line.
Repeat to join the next shape in order, and . . .
. . . finally the fourth.
Here is the shape at this point in assembly.
23. Form the assembly into a tube to align and join
the final seam.
24. Keep the back tab (rounded top) upright,
and bend the other three tabs inward . . .
in the left upper where the brads will be inserted.
A sole B right upper (vamp) with toe wrap over
C right upper sectioned rim trim shapes
D left upper (vamp) E left rim trim
F heel panel G heel rim trim
H stiletto post (square tube)
I stiletto reinforcement strips with interlock slots
J stiletto bottom end strip
K-N stiletto top platform collar
O sole liner P left liner
Q right liner R heel liner
2. Prepare the shapes by adding some curl
to specific areas:
Add back curl at the heel and . . .
. . . at the toe of each vamp.Add back curl across the toe portion of the wrap
of the right vamp.
3. Position and attach the rim trim shapes to
the uppers. NOTE that the right upper trim shape
can be cut in two parts for paper use economy,
or one shape to avoid the center front join seam.
Once the trim is attached securely,
carefully re-curl so that the trim curls
just like the upper.
Here are the three shapes with trim attached.
4. Add forward curl to the heel portion of the sole
Add back curl (this shape shown from backside here)to the toe area at transition from center to toe.
5. Identify the positioning aid dash cuts on the sole
at the sides where transition from toe to middle is, and . . .
. . . at the center front of the toe.
6. Bend back the tabs along the lower seam edge of
the upper shapes.
7. Align and overlap the center front toe seam and join.
When the seam is secure, add a narrow radius back curlat the toe tip to help it conform to the sole shape.
8. Position the sole tip dash mark at the center front
join seam of the upper, then . . .
. . . then join the first 1-2 tabs on each half alongthe edge of the sole, forming the upper to match
the tabs perforation edge. Allow to dry until secure.
9. Match the transition dash marks for sole and upper
at transition point then . . .
. . . align, "ease" in, and glue the toe bottom portion
of the upper to the sole, taking care here and throughout
to match upper to sole edge as precisely as possible.
NOTE that it may be possible and advisable toapply fingertip pressure along the seam from the inside.
10. Match the heel seam end of upper to the corresponding
position of the sole, then "ease" in and fit the edges
together and join the seam.
11. Repeat this process of joining sole to upper
for the opposite side until sole is joined fuller to uppers.
12. Add back curl to the heel shape, then bend
back the edge tabs. Add the rim trim shape at top edge.
13. Position the bottom heel tab to attach alongthe back straight edge of the sole, then align edge
at heel perforation (and slot) and join tab in place.
14. Curve the heel to match the edge of the upper,
match the top edges, and join the seam.
Repeat for the second side.
15. Prepare the stiletto post tube by bending back on all
perforation lines for panels and tabs.
Identify the top back tab which is shorter, and . . .
. . . the bottom "cap" panel which will close upthe tube.
16. Form the shape into a square tube
to overlap the long straight edge over opposite
long flange to perforation line, and join seam.
NOTE that it is possible to flatten the shape to applyfingertip pressure along the seam edge to assist the join.
17. Close the bottom end up by first bending inward
the three tabs, then . . .
. . . bend the "cap" panel down into position and
glue in place.
18. Prepare the X reinforcement interior strips bypositioning as shown with opposing slots, then . . .
. . . interlocking the slots and sliding downward . . .
. . . until ends are even, forming the X strut.
19. Insert the strut into the top end of the tube
with the strip edges at corners of the tube, then . . .
. . . slide down until the strut is fully inside the tube.20. Insert the tabs into the sole square cutout hole,
with the back tab at the heel edge of the opening.
On the inside, bend the tabs down and glue in place.
21. Prepare the platform shapes by bending back
on side and top tabs, and forward at lower "petal" tabs.
Also identify the order that they will join together:
The rounded top tab shape is the BACK of platform,
the plain top tab is FRONT. The notches of the SIDEs
will be oriented toward the FRONT.
22. Position and join the first seam by overlappingthe short angle edge over the corresponding tab
to perforation line.
Repeat to join the next shape in order, and . . .
. . . finally the fourth.
Here is the shape at this point in assembly.
23. Form the assembly into a tube to align and join
the final seam.
24. Keep the back tab (rounded top) upright,
and bend the other three tabs inward . . .
. . . orient the platform to the stiletto with the back tab
along the back face, then insert over the bottom end . . .
. . . slide it upward toward the sole, pausing to
apply adhesive (consider using quick grab glue here)
to the three tabs, then . . .
. . . insert the back tab into the heel slot . . .
. . . push in fully, to attach back tab to the back inside
of heel, then . . .
. . . applying firm pressure to attach the platform
to the sole. Hold in place until secure.
25. Position, wrap and attach the stiletto tip trim.
26. Apply adhesive to the underside of the petal
tabs on platform, then bend back into position to
attach each to the stiletto post.
27. Prepare the liner shapes by adding curl to each
to match the surface to which they will attach inside
the shoe, then insert and attach the sole, with a tiny
offset margin around edges.
NOTE: dry adhesive tape was used for the model
for all liner shapes, avoiding the chance at liquid
causing the warping and distortion to the outer surfaces.
Position and add the side uppers, then the heel.
Use a sharp tool such as this awl to poke holesin the left upper where the brads will be inserted.
28. Apply quick grab glue (such as the Fabri-Tack used here)
at the overlap ends of the right upper wrap area, then . . .
. . . carefully wrap the toe without creasing across
to position the punch holes of wrap to those of left upper.
To match up holes, consider using a narrow tool
such as this stiletto inserted through the aligned
holes, for final adjustments, then hold the layers
in position until secure.
29. Insert and attach decorative accent mini brads.
Here is the completed shoe from left . . .
. . . and right profiles.
