Pyramid 3D Tree With Niche

Geometric form tree with inset platform provides a stage
for varied elements, and includes a top “collar”,
layered for thickness and for shape stabilization.
For Christmas decor, add the “merry Christmas” words
cut from card stock or vinyl, or alternatively employ
“Print & Cut” tools and techniques to print
the offset front accents that will also include
“BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR”.
Once assembled, add features as desired,
or choose from “Fawn and Tree Slice Form Vignette”,
“Cane 3D Mini Mini Boxes Vignette” (separate designs).
Pyramid tree measures approx. 8.75” tall x 5” wide
x 5” deep when assembled.
(Requires 12x12 cutting capacity and card stock.)

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A & B left and right hull body shapes to join
C niche inset shape
D left and right front offset accent overlays
E left and right back offset accent overlays (2)
F "merry" and "Christmas" letter overlays
G collar stabilizer (5-6)

NOTE that an option can be followed to use
"Print & Cut" techniques to print D shapes onto
8.5"x11" card stock of appropriate weight and lack
of pattern to print "merry" and "Christmas" text of
slightly more refined text styling in place of cutting
F shapes to attach.
Here is the Print & Cut setup shown on the Cameo 12x12 mat:
2. Apply liquid glue between collar shapes, then
layer one by one into one thickened stack, taking
care that all cut edges align as precisely as possible.
At end of stacking and gluing together (or intermittently)
press the stack under a heavy flat weight - such as
this thick book volume (possibly with something else
heavy on top). Press for several hours or overnight
until completely dry, to help prevent warping or curling.
3. Prepare each hull body shape by bending back on
all perforation lines for panels, bottom flanges or side tabs.
4. Position and attach accent shapes to front and back
sections of both left and right halves, with narrow offset
margin all around within panel perforations, as shown.
5. Position and attach word cut outs to front upright margins
of accent shapes.
6. Position hull shapes with center front straight edge
of left half overlapping upper and lower tabs to
perforation lines, adjusting for top-to-bottom alignment,
then glue seams. Press under flat weight until dry.
7. Prepare the niche shape by bending back on all
perforations, except center back (upright) seam,
which is bent forward.
8. Bend so that the left and right back panels
come together, then tuck the straight edge
of one side into the perf bend of the other,
and glue the long tab in place on backside.
9. Position the assembled niche behind the hull assembly
so that the edge flanges line up with the window opening,
then glue one side in place. Once secure, bend to align . . .
. . . the other half seam perforations with window edges
and glue in place.
NOTE that the assembly can be placed face downward
on work surface so that fingertip pressure can be
applied to seam on backside.
12. Prepare for final hull assembly by applying
double-sided tape of one type or another to
ONLY the curved edge portion of bottom flanges.
Also apply tape to center back long tab.
13. Form the hull into a pyramid to align and join
the center back seam. (Position on flat work surface
to apply fingertip pressure from backside as far upward
as possible. Consider using a rod-like tool to reach up
to pyramid point to secure seam joining.
14. Close bottom of pyramid by folding first flange
back into perpendicular position, then fold second flange
down into perpendicular position to attach curved portion
to first flange.
Next, fold final two flanges back in interlocking
overlap position, flexing so that squared-corner
flange ends tuck under the adjacent flanges.
Push flanges into final perpendicular position and
adjust until bottom is flat so that pyramid can sit flat.
If needed, add quick-grab glue under the edges,
then apply fingertip pressure, etc.
15. Apply glue to inner window thickened edge of collar,
then insert over pyramid tip and carefully move downward
until it fits snugly. Adjust to level,
then hold in place until secure.
16. As desired, position and attach selected objects
or miniature decorations on the niche platform,
such as "Mini Cane 3D Mini Packages Vignette", or . . .
. . . "Fawn With Tree Vignette".
