Ribbon-tied Cottage 3d Gift Box Assembly Guide

Give some home-made lovin’
in a treat box with heart windows on each end.
Roof lid connects on one side along scallop eave edge,
bends to open at center top.
Line the heart cutouts with clear panels,
thread ribbon through slots on floor panel, fill with goodies,
wrap ribbon through roof slots and tie in bow at roof top.
Measures approx. 4.5” tall x 5” wide x 3.125” deep.

ASSEMBLY:
1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A cottage front and back
B cottage sides/bottom
C (barely visible) clear squares (2)
D heart window accents
E roof
Also shown: ribbon length approx. 1 yd.

2. Prepare the sides shape by folding bottom tabs inward, cross perforation lines inward except scalloped eaves flange bends outward (shown on upper left of this shot).

3. Thread the ribbon through the bottom slots, center the length, and also center the ribbon in the slot.

On the inside, secure the ribbon in place with a little adhesive between the shape and ribbon.

3. Prepare the side shapes by folding all side and roof eaves tabs back.

6. Place double-sided clear adhesive tape on the edges of both window shapes. (Remove protective liner strips.) Position and attach the shape to cover the heart window opening, with the bottom edge approx. 3/8" above the bottom straight edge (to allow space to attach connecting tag in following steps).

NOTE: if you are unsure that your cutting tool will cut the clear window media that you have, you can cut a window template from regular cardstock, then use that to hand- or rotary-cut the squares.

7. Apply glue to the backside of the accent heart window shape, then position so that the inner edges line up and attach.

8. Position the bottom edge of the cottage side shape to overlap the bottom section long tab of the side shape, center and attach.

Repeat for the second side shape.

9. Bend the side edge into position so that each segment lines up with a tab perforation. Glue each segment in place.

Repeat this edge gluing for the remaining three side edges.

10. Locate the upper side edge that does not have a scallop flange. This is the opening side. Apply adhesive to the underside of the tab, fold to the interior of the cottage and glue in place.

11. Apply glue to the scallop flange, and the two adjacent house front/back flange tabs . . .

. . . then position one side of the roof so that the center scallop edges of each line up exactly. (See the next frame for info to help determine which half of the roof shape should be attached.)

Attach the front/back flange tabs also, taking care to center the roof side to side.

(See the next image for more on centering.)

A single hash cut is included on the roof shape near the ridge fold (on the half intended to be attached to the scallop flange) to assist with positioning.

12.  Finish the cottage by threading first end of the ribbon through the under-eave and roof slot, as shown here.

Also thread the opposite ribbon end through the roof slot (after contents are installed).

13. Pull the ribbon ends up so there is no slack, and tie knot and bow at the roof crest line.

Mother Apron Easel Card Assembly Guide

Cheery Mother's Day easel card
features a detailed apron with ruffles,
neckline scallop, hem contrast, pockets,
ties and waist band.
"M-O-T-H-E-R" letters seam to float
behind (attached to a see-thru arch).
Top layer of card folds near the middle
to bring front bottom edge to rest behind
the “stopper” half daisy for a display.
Fold flat to approx. 5x7 size for delivering.

ASSEMBLY:
1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A card front (includes slots and perf line)
B card back (includes daisy position perfs)
C apron shapes, including base shape if desired (the version shown uses coloration of base shape to show as contrast shoulder ruffles)
D sentiment placards & daisy center "stop"
(NOTE cut at least 4 flower center shapes to provide a better ridge to help easel function)
E MOTHER letter cutouts
F (white) letters positioning template
G clear arch panel

2. Fold the card front inward on midline perforation, also at top tab.

3. Apply adhesive, position tab perforation over back top (underside) edge, center side to side and glue in place. This prepares the easel card base as a complete shape.

4. Prepare to attach MOTHER letter cutouts to the clear arch panel by layering the panel over the positioning template with lower and side edges aligned exactly.

5. Apply appropriate adhesive (dry roller adhesive "tape" or similar recommended) to the bottom portions ONLY of each letter, then position on top of the clear panel with the upper letter shape edges lined up.

This image shows the completed clear panel with the letters all in place.

(Remove and discard the template.)

6. With the front of the card and the clear letters panel both facing forward, insert the bottom panel tabs into the card front slots.

Turn the assembly so the inside is visible . . .

. . . then apply appropriate adhesive between the tabs as they "point" downward to the bottom of the card front, and glue in place.

7. Prepare the apron applique by building on the base shape to position all components in their final layout.

Here, preliminary assembly is taking place. The "whole" base shape shows to the front as the shoulder ruffles. Pocket bands are attached to pocket base shapes. Apron waistband is attached to the tie streamer.

(The remaining shapes should be assembled to the base before attaching to card front in next step.)

8. Attach the apron applique assembly to the card front.

To provide separation between apron and clear panel, consider attaching some clear adhesive "foam" squares (two or three) to the center back of the apron.

Apply regular adhesive to the bottom portion of the apron, then position with hem edge at card front edge, centered from side to side, then apply pressure to lower portion, foam squares attachment area to secure.

When the card is closed, the top of the apron/clear panel will extend upward in front of the upper portion of the card front, as shown.

9. Layer the sentiment card.

10. Layer the half daisy petals shapes (centered with hole cutouts lined up), and join. Center and attach the half-circle flower middle shapes.

As noted in the shapes layout descriptive text, it is recommended to cut 4-5 centers (yellow as shown here) then glue in a stack on the flower assembly to provide a better ridge to catch the easel edge when card is open.

Here is the card in its opened arrangement, with the front lower edge stopped behind the flower build up.

Here is the finished card,
in its opened presentation.
(Close the card flat for delivering.)

Hat Gift Card Holder Assembly Guide

Great choice for Mother’s Day giving, birthday,
graduation, bon voyage, friendship, or for any reason.
Bottom-fold card with top latch that folds
and inserts into card back slots.
Measures approx. 8.5” wide x 3.75” tall

ASSEMBLY:
1. Identify and cut the shapes:
(clockwise from upper left)
hat front base with rim accent
hat crown with hat band below
hat back
card holder flange below
decor flowers, leaves, tag

2. Prepare the hat front shape by folding the latch tab back.

3. Prepare the hat back by folding the short bottom edge tabs back.

4. Prepare to attach the back to the front by first applying adhesive to the face surface of the tabs, then . . .

. . . positioning the hat back so that the upper brim and crown edges of each line up, keeping the attaching tabs tucked under.

Apply pressure to the tab areas until they are securely attached to the backside of the hat front.

5. Prepare the card holder "flange" by folding back at the center "slot" side perforations, folding the bottom flange/tabs outward.

6. Open the card front and back and lay flat as shown.

Apply glue to the underside of the first card holder edge tab, then position it between the card back tabs with all tab top edges even. Apply pressure to secure.

7. Apply glue to the second card holder tab, also to the side edges only, as shown here.

Fold the card holder flange at the half perf lines and slot to bring the side edges together, the long side tab (shown here as the "bottom" of the card holder) attaching to the card back shape.

Crease lines of hat back and flange should line up.

Fold the card closed and apply pressure along bottom to secure the flange in place.

8. Decorate the front of the card by positioning crown shape, edge rim . . .

. . . crown band, layered flowers, leaves and tag. (Sample tag has a small eyelet attached at the punch hole.)

9. To prepare the card for delivering, insert the gift card into the slot and between the layers of the holder flange.

Only about half of the card will be visible once it is in place.

10. Close the card and secure it by bending/curling the latch tab to insert end under the latch "bar" on the card back.

Voila! Finished card.
