Choose this whimsical way to deliver graduation gift cash.
Bear with hollow ears is peeking over the top of
slotted “marquee”
where a (US )
paper bill has been
rolled for safe keeping and clever gifting.
Bear layers are
cut from kraft colored (or your choice)
card stock and glued into a stack to
imitate tag board.
Head front layer is cut with recesses for placing
tiny eyes
and muzzle with nose, giving bear some expression.
Grad cap shapes are included
in the main shape layers,
with final black (or color of choice) base layer and
“board”
overlay cut and attached separately.
Add the tassel to match school
color if desired.
Paws are also cut separately and overlaid for definition
separate marquee layer. If desired, front marquee layer
can be prepared with
“print & cut” techniques so cash holder
can be personalized.
Bear cash
holder measures approx. 5” tall x 3.5” wide
(with up to 1/8” stacked depth)
when fully assembled.
Optional shapes also included:
1) fold-together back
easel stand;
2) back band to secure rolled bill.
NOTE: this design is very similar to the "plain" bear
rolled cash card design. Follow this LINK to see that tutorial.
Then return to see the additional two steps shown here, below.
ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes according
to the "plain" teddy rolled cash card design
shapes cutting image, plus follow notes within
the cut file for the additional mortar board, cap and tassel.
2. Position and attach the hat base onto the main stack,
then position the mortar board overlay on top,
taking care with both shapes to match up the cut edges
to those of the stack.
NOTE that the tassel shown in the right side hanging
position on this sample would be for the pre-graduate.
The tassel included in the cut file has top edge
preparing and securing the rolled bill onto
the slots, adding stand, etc.
