Garden Basket Gift Card Holder Assembly

Quilt patch styled basket with contrast 'stripe'
presents hexagon flowers plus daisies
and stylized bluebell fronds.
Built up layers in the basket (lower half) base
conceal a compartment for a standard gift card.
Bouquet also has built up layers to create
a channel into which the card slider top fits.
Measures approx. 6.5" x 6.5" when closed.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A upper front panel    B upper channel panels (5)
C upper back panel    D flower panel silhouette base
E flower base 'dome'
F hex flowers (3) with center & 3 (ea.) hex overlays
G daisies base with 3 petal overlays, center
H right daisy with 3 petal overlays, center
I bluebell fronds, 3 ea. dot 'bells'
J basket main     K basket 'stripe'
L lower panel front
M lower card frame build up (3)
N lower card build up back
O lower panel back
2. Attach the 'stripe' to the front of the
main basket shape.
3. Position and attach the dome to the flower
silhouette base.
Also position the three hexagon flower shapes
over their side and center positions,
aligning outer/upper edges with the silhouette
edge shapes that correspond.
4. Position and attach the flower centers
in each flower.
Position and attach three hexagon overlays
onto each flower in alternating positions.
(This gives definition to ALL six hexagons
of the flowers without needing SIX hexagons cut
separately.)
5. Prepare the daisy whole and right separate
blossoms by identifying where the separate
petal overlays will be positioned on top
of the bases (shown here near the base
shapes to which they will be attached).
Position and attach the green 'bluebell' frond
shapes on the whole daisy base.
6. Position and attach the petal overlays
onto the daisies.
Position and attach the centers.
7. Position the separate right daisy flower
over the whole base silhouette,
align corresponding edges,
and attach.
8. Position the daisy unit over the green dome
and other flowers, etc., of the upper (flowers)
base, lining up the frond edges that correspond,
and attach in place.
NOTE that the 'bluebell' circle punches
are shown here in their relative positions,
but they will NOT be attached until
later in the assembly process.
9. Prepare the upper build up by attaching the
5 channel shapes one by one into a stack,
taking care to line up ALL edges as precisely
as possible (here and throughout).
NOTE: it may be helpful to use a flat weight
to assist the attachment of each layer
and to keep the layers from curling undesirably.
10. Position and attach the upper back panel . . .
. . . and then the upper front panel to the appropriate
back or front surfaces of the channel panels build up,
continuing to line up the edges that correspond
as precisely as possible.
11. Position the flowers unit over the upper front
with the zigzag bottom edges that correspond
lined up, and the sides and top edges offset slightly,
and glue in place.
12. Prepare the lower build up by aligning and
attaching the three card frame shapes.
13. Position and attach (surfaces that correspond)
frame build up and lower build up back panel
(contains push-out hole).
14. Position and attach the lower build up front
panel . . .
. . . and then the lower build up back panel.
15. Position and attach the basket decor unit,
lining up the zigzag edges that correspond,
and offset inside slightly at sides and bottom.
16. To insert the gift card, slide it into
the frame opening by slipping it under the
lower front edges.
17. Close the card by inserting the frame
extension up into the channel, between
the front and back panel layers. . .
. . . then push the upper and lower together
to fit the zigzag edges flush.

Tulips Bloom! Box Card

Dimensional card (approx 2.75" wide x 2.75" deep by 5.875" tall)
folds flat for sending, opens into box tube form for display.
Two bridges cross interior box space to support design elements:
(#1) pair of layered tulips with scroll leaf stem,
and (#2) arch with 7 layered miniature tulips.
Leaf spike arch decorates the back panel.
Layered oval card with punch hole for mini brad
attaches to front accent panel.
"Bloom!" word cut can express sentiment on tag.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A card base (in two halves)
B-D base outside accent panels: front and sides
E base inside back accent panel
F leaf spike arch accent
G, H & I side and front flaps with accents
J bridge #1 with flower and swirl accents
K bridge #2 with 2 arch, two-part flowers, punch dots
L front two-part tag with "bloom!" word cut
2. Prepare the card base halves by bending
back (mountain fold) at all vertical perforation lines.
3. Overlap the left edge of the half that includes
the taller back panel over the corresponding
side tab of the other half to perforation libne,
adjust so that top and bottom edges align,
and glue the side seam.
4. Prepare the tag by layering the ovals and
attaching the word cut.
5. Position the tag punch hole over the corresponding
hole on the front (center) accent panel, and attach
in place with a dab of glue and a contrast mini brad.
6. Position and attach the front side and center
accent panels over the card base corresponding
panels, with bottom edges aligned, and centered
side to side.
7. Position and attach the tall back panel
on the inside of the card base panel
in similar manner.
8. Form the card into a tube to bring the side tab flange
to wrap around the corresponding side edge of
tall panel (tab will be on the outside of the card tube).
Align bottom edges, and glue in place.
9. Prepare the three flaps by bending back
the top edge tab/flanges.
Center and glue in place
the flap accent shapes,
then attach punch circle into hole cutout,
leaves pair on each side.
10. Position the tab/flange of the appropriate flap unit
along the side or front edge of the box
and glue in place. Attach two side and one
front flap.
11. Prepare to attach the spike leaf accent
by first identifying the position cut marks
on the back accent panel . . .
. . . then position the bottom inner rounded edges
at the guide marks, and glue in place.
12. Prepare the larger flower units by attaching
the front 'petal' shapes to the base shape.
13. Position and attach the left flower onto
bridge #1, then leaf swirl, then right flower.
Bend the bridge side tabs back.
14. Prepare bridge #2 by layering and attaching
the outer and inner arch accent shapes.
(NOTE the final cut shape has been modified
to remove the inner 'dots' shaping.)
Build the tiny flower units by layering the petal pair
and dot shapes onto the base.
Position and attach the flower shapes over
the corresponding positions over the arch.
Bend the bridge side tabs back.
15. Apply glue to the side tabs of bridge #2,
then insert into the interior of the box
and prepare to attach the tabs to the inside
surfaces of the side panels, at approximately
a one-third distance forward from the back.
Push the bridge downward into the box
cavity until the top of the tab flange is even
with the flap fold edge.
Also take care that the bridge is perpendicular
to the box's sides.
Before the glue sets, fold the box card into its
flattened position and apply pressure through
the layers in the areas where the tab flanges are
attaching to the box sides.
(Repeat this flattening and pressure-applying
step after bridge #1 is attached, too.)
This allows the attachment to "self adjust" slightly
if needed.
16. Insert bridge #1 in the same manner,
placing it approx. halfway between bridge #2
and box front, and attach.
Here is the flattened box prepared to
insert into an envelope for sending or giving.
Here is the completed box in its opened form.

Flower Pot Easel Card

Tall card can fold "flat" to fit into
a standard no. 10 envelope, then transforms
into an easel (self-standing) card when
pot bottom edge fits against the semi-circle "stop" tab.
Build three flowers on stem-colored bases.
Pot silhouette fits behind the rim attached to card base.
Accent shapes adorn inner base, pot main and rim.
Flower centers have button hole punches to tie with decorative twine.
Two part front tag with heart can attach with mini brad.
Measures approx. 3.875" wide x 9.125" when flat to send.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A main card base    B  base accent with 'stop' nib
C pot rim    D pot rim accent
E pot body    F pot accent
G two part tag with heart accent
H-J flower bases (cut 2 of each for strength)
K flower shapes: scallop base, 5-petal, 2-part 'button'
2. Prepare the card base by bending forward (mountain folds)
at the two perforation lines. The narrower panel at
the top will be the pot rim connection panel,
and the bottom panel will hold the base accent
where the 'stop' nib will keep the easel in position.
NOTE: this will mean that the base of the card
will be the backside of the paper.
3. Prepare the base accent shape by bending
the nib upward.
Then . . .
. . . position the accent on the backside bottom panel
with edges offset inward slightly (center it),
and glue in place.
Make sure that the nib is positioned toward the
bottom edge/front of the card base as shown.
4. Assemble the tag and heart, then position
and attach to the pot front accent shape with
mini brad and a dab of glue.
5. Position the pot front accent shape on the
pot base shape with the top edges aligned,
and centered side to side, and glue in place.
6. Prepare the pot rim shape by centering and
attaching the accent shape on the front of
the rim base shape.
NOTE that the rim base include stem position marks.
They are shown here on the front of the card,
but can also be seen from the backside when
they will be used to position the flower stalks.
(See step 11.)
7. Prepare the three flower units by centering
and attaching all four shapes by aligning
the punch holes. NOTE: I applied
glue only around the flower punch holes to
allow edges to have a more dimensional look.
(Buttons were glued edge to edge.)
8. Thread a length of twine through the unit holes
and tie a small bow.
9. Layer the flower base (green) duplicate shapes
to give the stems some extra strength for standing.
10. Position one flower unit on top of stem units,
align scallop edges, and glue edge to edge.
11. Position the center (shortest) flower/stem unit
behind the rim base, backsides of each facing up,
with stem bottom edge flush with bottom/rounded corner
edge, and stem side edges between the center
set of dash marks. Glue together the surfaces that touch.
12. Repeat the positioning process for the two side
flower stems, with bottom edges even at rim bottom,
stems between the side sets of guide marks.
13. Position and attach the rim/flowers unit
by aligning the rim edges with the rim panel
of the card base.
14. Insert the top edge of pot front unit under the
card base rim panel, centered side by side,
and with top edge at the fold.
Glue together the surfaces of rim backside
and pot front side that touch.
This image shows the positioning process
from the FRONT . . .
. . . and this image shows it from the BACK.
(NOTE that the flowers and stems cannot
be seen because they are concealed
under the card base.)
15. Fold the card at the lower - or base back -
perforation line
as shown here to prepare to send.
In this position, its dimensions will fit into
a standard no. 10 envelope.
(Another view of flat position.)
16. To stand the flowers into easel
form, bend the base at the upper -
or rim edge - perforation line,
and place the pot bottom edge
behind the nib.
Here is the completed easel flowers
in pot card.
