Santa Pillow Gift Box

Classic pillow or "turn over" style gift box for goodies
measures approx. 5.5" long x 3" wide.
This design features layered Santa head with faux belt band.
A similar, companion design is
the Reindeer Medallion Pillow Box.
(Shapes layout is provided below for this variation.
Assembly will be similar.)

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A pillow box hull
B belt strip  C head silhouette (shows thru as face)
D hat  E hat fur strip  F hat tassel ball
G eye shapes (black) and highlight underlay
H beard shape    I mustache shape
J nose
Reindeer Medallion Gift Box shapes:
A box hull   B medallion base
C medallion accent rim  D medallion center
E head with antlers base  F head with ears
G face shape   H eye contrast & nose
2. Prepare the box hull shape by bending back
on the panel edges and side flange tab perforations.
Also carefully bend back along the curved perforation
lines at each end for front and back end flaps.
3. Fold the flange tab back, fold the box hull
in half and glue the seam.
4. To close the ends, fold one of the flaps inward . . .
. . . then fold the other. This bending back is different
from a straight edge fold and will involve a
sort of "snap" action.
4. Prepare to assemble the santa head by
laying out the shapes.
5. Layer the eye shapes (black) over the contrast
(white) underlay with edges even (or white concealed)
and glue together.
6. Position and attach the beard shape on
the head building silhouette. BEFORE the nose
edge of beard shape is attached,
position and tuck the eye shapes under slightly.
7. Position and attach the hat and mustache shapes.
8. Position and attach the nose, fur brim and
top tassel ball.
9. Preview where you will attach the head assembly
on the box front so that you can determine where
the belt strip will be positioned, then . . .
. . . center the strip across the front of the box
as shown, and glue in place. Then . . .
. . . wrap strip ends around to back, creasing
at box edges to match the hull bends,
and overlap ends, and glue in place.
10. Position head assembly, centered and overlapping
the belt strip as shown, and attach in place.
Here is the completed, closed Santa Pillow Gift Box.

Bunny Rosette Pillow Box

Flattened tube with fold-in oval ends
is a unique treat box for Easter baskets or
other special occasions.
Pleated scallop edge rosette has scallop
and plain circle medallion embellishment with
layered bunny decoration
Measures approx. 4.75" long x 2.5" wide x .75" deep.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A main pillow box   B rosette scalloped strips (2)
C rosette front, back covers
D scallop circle front accent
E plain circle front accent
F bunny main body base
G body overlay  H head
I tail accent  J tummy accent
(Images in steps 2-10 are from a different, similar project.)
2. Prepare the main box shape by bending
back on middle perforation, side flange tab.
3. Carefully bend back on the curved ends
micro-perforations.
4. Fold the box in half to align the straight
side edge at the opposite flange tab perf line,
and join the side seam.
5. Prepare the rosette strips by accordion-folding
on the perforation lines, beginning with the end tab
which is bent forward. Then alternate back folds
and forward folds across each of the strips.
6. Join the strips into one unit by overlapping
the straight "right" end over the "left" end tab
of the second strip to the perforation line,
and join.
7. Form the strips into a ring with the face side
outward, and complete the second seam.
8. Form the strips into the circular rosette by
pressing the straight lower edge inward and
to the center . . .
. . . until it is flattened on the work surface.
Apply pressure from sides toward center
to gather the pleats as tightly as possible
while forcing the smallest center circle as possible.
9. While holding the rosette in position achieved
in previous step, apply hot glue around the center
circular opening, then quickly position and afix
the front cover circle. Continue to apply pressure
inward to keep the rosette strips circular and tight.10. Turn the rosette face down to position and
attach the backside cover circle.
11. Prepare the bunny accent unit by positioning
the body overlay over the body base, matching
the cut edges that correspond as precisely as possible.
12. Position the tail accent and the tummy accent
over the base shape, tucked tightly next to
the edges of the body overlay.
13. Position and attach the head.
14. Darken the eye by coloring the recess
with ink pen.
15. Layer and attach the scallop and plain circle
accent shapes, then . . .
. . . position and attach the rosette over
the center of the pillow box by aligning
the punch circle guide marks.
(Thick style, quick-dry glue recommended,
such as hot glue or Fabri-Tack.)
16. Position (centered) bunny accent unit
over the rosette and attach in place.
17. Close the end of the box by bending in
the finger half circle flange inward first . . .
. . . fold in the second end.
Fill with desired contents, then repeat
for the final end.

Rosette Heart Pillow Box

Flattened tube with fold-in oval ends
is a clever treat box for Valentine's Day
or other special occasions.
Pleated scallop edge rosette has scallop and
plain circle medallion embellishment
with layered heart decoration
Box measures approx. 4.75" long x 2.5" wide
x .75" deep.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A box body   B rosette strips (2)
C rosette center covers (2)
D medallion (scallop circle, plain circle,
large and small hearts.
2. Prepare the body by bending back at flange tab
and middle perforation lines.
3. Carefully bend back along the curved end
perforation lines working in small sections
to bend only as far eventual resistance allows.
4. Fold the body in half with flange tucked
under, and glue the seam.
NOTE that with end curved panels
bent into flat position, the body can be
pressed flat to help secure the seam.
5. Prepare the rosette strips, beginning at
the tab end, to bend as valley, then alternate
folding mountain then valley, in accordion fashion
across the entire strip.
6. Attach the first ends seam by positioning
end straight edge over the corresponding tab
to perf line, taking care that bottom
straight edges are aligned.
7. Form the strip assembly into a ring to bring
the opposite straight edge end and tab together
and join as for the first seam.
8. Complete the rosette form by carefully forcing
the top accordion edges into the center . . .
. . . compressing the pleats as tightly as possible.
Hold the pleats in tight position while applying
hot glue at the pleat inner edge ring,
then quickly place the cover circle over the
center opening and glue ring.
Quickly work to push the pleats toward the center
as the hot glue cools and solidifies, to ensure
that the pleats are even all around.
9. Flip the rosette assembly over and attach
the "front" circle cover with hot glue.
10. Assemble the medallion shapes . . .
. . . position and attach to the center of
the rosette, then attach to the box body,
centering over the guide mark punch hole.
11. To form the "box", bend the finger tab
end panel inward . . .
. . . then bend the plain end panel inward.
Insert gift card, cash, goodies or treats, etc.,
then close the final end panels.
