Luminary 3D Pyramid Snowflake Votive

Four-sided cone “lid” features snowflake and circle cutouts,
and fits over short-walled reinforced base.
An LED votive holder cup, either short to match
tea light height, or as shown below with taller
"candle" option, is attached to base.
Ignite the light, place in cup, fit pyramid lid over base,
then darken the room for a little winter magic!
More light reflects if paper stock has white backside,
but if needed, duplicate (reversed) shape “liner” triangles
are included to attach to hull inside surfaces.
Pyramid measures approx. 6.875” tall with
5.5”x5.5” square base.
Requires 12x12 cutting capacity and card stock.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A pyramid hull (2)
B base tray
C base reinforcement layers (1 as reflective liner)
D pyramid triangle panel reflective liner (4)
E base wall panel reflective liner (4)
F "taller" LED holder candle
NOTE that the pyramid panels are sized at maximum
that will fit on one sheet of 12x12 card stock.
2. Prepare the pyramid hull panels by bending back on
all center perforation line and side tab perf line.
3. Join the two halves at the first side seam by
overlapping the straight side edge across the side tab
of the other half, adjusting for top to bottom alignment,
then glue seam.
4. If you wish to use the reflective interior panels,
position each so that the larger openings fit around
the hull slightly smaller openings appropriately,
and attach in place. If using liquid adhesive, press
the assembly under several heavy flat weights,
such as large book volumes, until completely dry to
help minimize warping or curling of the panels.
5. Form the hull into a pyramid to align and join
the second side seam. Take care at top tip that
seam is tight and neat.
NOTE that the symmetry of the hull will allow the shape
to be flattened so facilitate fingertip pressure along
the seam.
6. Prepare the base tray shape by bending back on
all perforation lines for center panel, side corner tabs.
7. Position and attach the base center panel reinforcing
shape panels on the inside face, using the center
guide hole to assist with centered alignment, also
keeping panel edges and base perforation lines parallel.
8. If using reflective interior shapes, position and
attach each at a center wall extension, taking care
that the lower straight edge will not interfere with bend,
and that the two circle hole partial cut outs at edge
remain offset from base edge (so the reflective shape
will NOT show from outside.
9. Bend two adjacent side walls inward to align
first corner seam, overlapping the straight side edge
across the opposite tab to perf line, and join seam.
Repeat for remaining 3 corner seams.
10.  Prepare the candle stick shape by bending back
on all perforations for panels, tabs, side flange,
top cover, etc., except bend the top recess platform
side walls forward.
11. Form the candlestick shape into a tube to
overlay straight edge across opposite flange tab,
adjust for top and bottom alignment, then glue seam.
NOTE that the symmetry of this shape will allow it to be
flattened on work surface to allow fingertip pressure
to be applied along seam to help secure it.
12. At bottom, bend the end tabs inward,
apply pressure to outward surface of tabs,
then bend the bottom panel into place.
Adjust wall edges to match bottom panel
edges, and glue in place.
NOTE: it may be helpful to insert fingertip
into the tube to apply pressure to
press tabs in place.
13. Apply glue to the underside of all platform
side tabs, including the attached tab, then . . .
. . . bend into the tube, and push downward . . .
. . . and adjust, until the tab edges align with tube edges.
Apply pressure to each segment until secure in place.
The candle will be completed later in assembly
by inserting the bottom end of the LED candle or
votive into the tube's top recess . . .
. . . so that it looks like this.
14. Apply glue to the bottom of the candle stick,
then position it, centered, over the guide circle
of base tray, and attach securely in place.
15. To complete final assembly, and to prepare it
to use, turn on the LED light, replace votive or candle
into candlestick stem, then position pyramid hull over
base walls and gently slide down fully into position.
Here is luminary in use.
And this view shows it with surrounding light
diminished.
