Fir Tree 3D Slice Form Flat Back

Five slices of a stylized but realistic Christmas tree
fit together to form a flat-back tree for
adding decoration to gift boxes, shadow boxes,
pop-out cards and more.
A reinforcing spine keeps stabilizes and bridges the gap
at back of final slices.
Add faux “snow” paint to edges for a festive touch.
Tree measures approx. 7” tall x 3.6” wide
x 1.8" deep when assembled.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
1-5 tree slices
A back reinforcement spine
Locate order numbers 1-5 which are "cut in"
each slice near center bottom.
2. Fold each slice along vertical center as "valley" fold
and cease with bone folder tool or equivalent
to ensure folds are thoroughly creased.
3. Begin with slice #1 face up, and apply glue to backside
of right-most half, then position slice #2 so that
matched left-most half attaches to glue-applied
#1 half, and glue backsides together.
4. Continue in same fashion to align adjacent halves
of slices in order - #3 is next, then #4, etc. until
all 5 slices are attached together.
As each is attached, it may be helpful to bend
into a half-stack with backside of fold edges
creating a sort of spine, allowing easy visibility . . .
. . . that each slice is aligned as precisely
as possible. Apply fingertip pressure along
stack fold edges until each is, then all are secure.
5. Open slice assembly so that backside is flat
across full width (open position).
Apply glue to underside of spine reinforcement
shape, then position it on backside, centered
over joint, and with bottom edges aligned.
Here is the completed tree with "Snow Writer"
faux snow on branch edges.
