Ornament 3D Star Curved Sides

Carefully bend along the curved perforation lines 

of combined front and back ornament panels, 

slip a knotted ribbon hang loop in at top where shaped “hole” allows, 

then bend the panels together to slip the edges of “back” panel 

under those of front, and glue closed. 

Add petal shaped or rounded pentagon offset accent shapes 

to walls as desired. 

Measures approx. 4.5” tall x 4.5” wide x 1.5” deep 

when assembled. 

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:

A curvy star hull (connected front & back)

B front & back offset accent overlay (2)

C side facet pointed oval offset overlay shapes (5)

2. Prepare the body by carefully bending along

the curved perforations that connect the front and back

panels, and also nearer the perimeter of hull shape.

3. Identify the top of the ornament which is where

a small "hole" cutout is located, as connected front

and back shapes converge. Use the "top" location

as orientation to determine the positions of the star offset 

accents, but DO NOT attach these until the star hull

is shaped.

Also "audition" where the side facet shapes will go.

4. Keeping track of the TOP of the star, begin to

fold the back and front together, with the back's edges . . . 

. . . fitting inside the front's curved-edge walls.

5. Once a test closing is performed, open up the hull

to flat form and apply adhesive to the BACK

edge oval shapes only . . . 

. . . both near outer edge and also near inward

curved perforation lines and bends.

6. Re-bend and tuck the back oval walls behind

the front walls and attach in place, taking care

that front edges end up positioned along the curved

perforation lines of back. 

7. Before positioning and attaching the accent shapes,

add some curl so that their forms match the curvature

of the 3D ornament body.

For side facet ovals, add upward curl to the ends

and centers.

For face rounded star shapes, add backward curl

at points.

8. Position and attach the accent shapes

onto the faces to which they correspond, with

narrow offset margins all around.

9. To attach a hanging loop or hook array,

add a "stop knot" at bottom, then slip knot

to the inside at the top position prior to

completing the final side overlap and seam . . .

. . . then folding the final side wall into position

to attach and complete the ornament.

Ornament 3D Pyramid Bell

Dimensional drop ornament with four downward peaks 

is cut from a 7” square to dress up or down as you choose. 

Surprisingly easy origami-style folding creates the hull. 

Add offset contrast accents in one or more prints 

(consider up-cycling Christmas greeting card panels); 

add optional mini-eyelet to center; add tassel to bottom,

 thread cord or ribbon through center and opt. decorative ball cap, 

add bow and decorative hook or loop at top. 

Bell measures approx. 3” wide x 3” deep x 3.75” tall when finished.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:

A bell body

B upper accent shapes (4)

C lower accent shapes (4)

2. Fold the bell body on the vertical and horizontal

"cross hair" holds, then . . . 

. . . fold back on the diagonal lines also.

3. Fold back on the shorter "interior" octagon perforation

lines, then . . . 

. . . re-direct the vertical and horizontal short extension

lines that fall at the square's edges to be "valley" fold.

4. NOTE that the areas indicated in this image

(half diamonds) that fall along square's edges

will NOT show in the final pyramid bell, but will

fold to the inside. These DO NOT have accent decorations.

5. Preview where the accent shapes will be placed

once the bell is assembled into its 3D form.

DO NOT attach them yet, since they wrap around edges.

6. Begin to form the 3D bell by pushing the center sides

inward. Turn the shape face side down, then . . . 

. . . "pinch" the point walls to help direct them inward . . .

. . . then as points begin to take shape, push the center

downward until the form "pops" slightly to help the re-directed

folds release and the bell to begin taking shape.

7. Continue to push the points upward and together . . .

. . . until the pyramid is fully formed and points come together.

8. The center bottom hole can have a grommet

"eyelet" inserted and affixed if desired . . . 

. . . as shown here. Unfold the bell to attach eyelet.

9. To attach a hanging loop with optional beads, etc.,

prepare the array with a large "stop knot", then

insert at one point so that the knot is inside the point;

glue in place to the backside of the point, taking care . . . 

. . . NOT to glue point's side walls to backside of point,

but instead try to let them remain free.

Also prepare the bottom tassel/beads, etc., and

insert through the bottom hole with "stop knot" or other

anchor to be attached inside the bell.

10. Apply quick-grab glue to one of the opposing

interior point walls as shown here . . . 

. . . then push the points inward again and align

all points together so that bend edges align as

precisely as possible. Hold in place until securely dried.

11. Prepare the accent shapes by bending upper

shapes BACK at centerline, and bending

lower shapes FORWARD at centerline.

12. Position and attach upper accent shapes

as shown so that center perforation fold fits/aligns

at the center side fold, and . . .

. . . lower shapes in similar fashion at lower portion.

Countdown Ornaments Inverted Ends

Make quick and simple tree or peg ornaments for each 
of the 12 Days of Christmas, as 1-24 December countdown, 

or other winter celebrations. Leave the numbers and disc off 

for a dimensional addition to swags and garlands. 

Raise interest level by cutting and adding optional 

narrow offset overlays. Square side panels surround “equator”, 

and triangle folds above and below bend inward. 

Punch holes at top and bottom allow for tassel or 

other bauble to hang from below, with tie ribbon or cord 

at top (top only punched hull also included). 

Ornament measures approx. 2.66” diameter when assembled.

ASSEMBLY:  1. Identify and cut the shapes:

A main ornament body

B top and bottom square accents (2; with punch holes)

C middle panel accents (7)

D invert panel accents (4 upper, 4 lower)

E number disc with numbers

2. Prepare the body panel by bending BACK on all

perforation lines for panels . . .

. . . top and bottom squares,

end tabs; and . . .

. . . FORWARD on diagonal inverted lines.

NOTE: it may be helpful to reverse the body shape

and bend along the diagonal lines from back.

It may also be helpful to "dry fit" how the ends will

form with inverted panels to confirm where any optional

accent panels will be placed for desired effect.

3. Open body flat to position and attach the inverted

panel offset triangle accents, and . . .

. . . and the middle square accent shapes.

NOTE that when using the disc with count down numbers,

the front panel accent can be omitted because it will be

covered almost completely by the disc.

4. Form the body shape into a tube to bring the straight

side edge to overlap the opposite tabs to perf line,

and glue in place.

NOTE: that the hull shape can be flattened to apply

fingertip pressure along the seam to make sure

it is completely aligned and secured.

5.  Bring the three triangle top tabs together

by bending along the inverted panel diagonal folds . . .

. . . then apply glue to the triangle tabs.

Bend the top square panel down into position and

adjust so that the squared edges align at triangle tab perf folds,

and glue in place, holding until secure.

6. Repeat for the opposite end.

7. Position the countdown numbers onto the circle disc,

balancing and centering for best presentation.

8. Position, centered, onto the front panel

and attach in place.

9. If adding a tassel array, thread the stringers onto

a long (doll) needle, then thread the needle through

the ornament from bottom to top, then . . . 

. . . tie onto a wire or ribbon loop at top, and

"bury" stringer ends back inside the ornament

if possible. Sample ornament also has a ribbon

bow tied at base of wire loop, and hot-melt glued

in place.
