Watering Can 3D Tapered Vessel

 
Narrow profile tapered container has dimensional spout 
and I-beam scroll back handle, upper reinforcement and half dome, 
bubbler spout with accent rim ring, offset accents with 
contrast rivet circles, checker panel with overlay and trim, 
heart flourish. 
Festive and novel gift box choice, or decoration. 

Designed specifically to present the second letter “O”
 in the BLOOM Letter Box Ensemble.

 Water can measures approx.  6.5” wide x 7” tall 
x 2” deep when completed. 

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the structure shapes:
A front panel     B back panel
C left side panel where spout attaches
D back side panel where handle attaches
with bottom panel
E spout structure
F BASE lower sprinkler octagon box
G LID upper sprinkler octagon box structure
H contrast sprinkler grille with water holes
I "dam" stabilizer for top opening of water can
J half dome center wall   K & L half dome side walls

2. Prepare the front wall with decorations
(if using liquid adhesive, it is recommended to
press the glued-up assemblages under a heavy
flat weight until thoroughly dried - see step 4):
Upper: attach narrow strips to corresponding upper
and lower edges; center and attach flourish,
heart and center dot; position and attach in position
on front panel where dash lines on front accent panel
indicate top of decorative assembly should align.
Lower: attach checker panel, centered, onto plain panel
then position and attach narrow strips to corresponding
upper and lower edges.
3. Bend side and end flanges back.
Position and attach left side (spout), right side
and bottom panels onto respective base panels,
centered with offset narrow margins all around.
4. Layer and attach sprinkler rings, one at a time,
into a stack, taking care to carefully align inner and
outer cut edges.
Place stack under a heavy weight, such as this thick
book volume, until glue is thoroughly dried (up to
several hours while other assembling is completed).
This will assist stack to remain flat, and avoid
warping and curling as liquid glue dries.
5. Prepare sprinkler octagon box base shape by
bending back on vertical segment perforations
and lower tabs or octagon 'lid'.
6. Form the shape into a tube to bring the straight end edge
to overlap the tab to perforation line, and glue seam.
7. Bend tabs inward, apply adhesive to upper surfaces
of tabs, then bend 'lid' octagon into position.
Adjust to align oct edges to wall segment perf lines,
and glue in place.
8. Prepare sprinkler box lid shape by bending upper
tabs back at inward perforation lines for all wall segments
and forward on edge tab perforation lines.
9. Apply adhesive to the "attached" narrow panels
of each segment (except  leave the final segment
un-glued until later in the process), then bend each
into position to attach to backside of strip wall.
NOTE: the edge tabs MUST remain unattached
to form ledge for octagon panel.
10. Form the shape into a ring to bring the tab end
to under-lap opposite straight edge to perforation line,
 and glue in place.
11. Bend the final tab segment down/inward into position
as with previous wall segments, and glue "attached"
narrow panel in place.
12. Bend "ledge" tabs into perpendicular position,
apply adhesive to upper surfaces, then bend 'lid'
octagon down into position, adjust as necessary,
and apply pressure . . . 
. . . to attach ledge tabs to backside of 'lid'.
13. Position and attach the grille accent shape
inside LID structure.
14. Prepare the spout structure by bending back on
all panel and flange perforation lines.
Bend lower and upper tabs forward.
15. Position and attach the "wall" accent shapes,
 offset with narrow margins within
perforation-defined areas.
16. Form the structure into a tube to bring together
the long side straight edge with lower flange,
edge aligning at perforation, and glue in place.
NOTE: it may be helpful to insert a long rod-like tool
inside the tube, placed behind the seam,
to provide a "press-against" surface.
17. Place the ring stack over the sprinkler box BASE
opening edge, and slide along into temp position
about halfway down.
18. Insert top tags into sprinkler base slots
(take care to orient the arrow cutout upward) . . .
. . . then bend tabs outward on the inside
and glue in place.
19. Position and fit the LID over the BASE
(this is a snug fit), and slide fully down
into position.
20. Apply a neat, narrow bead of glue along the edge
of LID, then . . . 
. . . slide the ring up to abut next to lid edge,
and attach in place.
21. Bend tabs forward for left and right shapes.
Position and attach handle accent shapes
with narrow offset margins all around - except
where edges align at tab perforation lines.
22. On backside of handle shapes, position the tracing
guide with "inner" edges matched, then . . . 
. . . use a fine pencil to trace the outer "straight" 
segments edges.
23. Bend the handle boxing strip back on internal
segment perforation lines (re-bend later to match
required shape); bend side tabs back.
24. Position top segment (marked with symbol) 
to match top traced line, shape remaining segments
to match corresponding portions of line, and glue
edge tabs in place. Re-bend strip to match angles
of lower traced line as necessary.
25. Position second handle side over boxing tabs,
align as for first handle side, then attach tabs
to backside. Goal is to align both handles inward
tab edges and outer curved edges.
26. Begin assembling hull by aligning and joining
front and back panels to respective side of left side
(spout) panel, and . . . 
. . . right (left) handle to remaining edge of 
back panel as shown. 
27. Position spout so tabs can be inserted into
corresponding slots, then . . . 
. . . bend tabs outward on backside of panel
and glue in place.
28. Position handle and insert tabs into corresponding
slots, then . . . 
. . . on inside bend tabs back and glue in place.
29. Complete hull assembly by bending back wall
lower edge to align at bottom panel flange, 
and glue seam. Position and glue lower left (spout)
seam, then . . . 
. . . position and attach final side seam.
30. Prepare top opening reinforcement by bending
flanges back. Apply adhesive to backside of flanges,
then position inside upper opening edges and
slide into place so that flange and wall top cut edges
are aligned in place.
31. Prepare the half-dome side panels by first
positioning trim strip exactly along back edge
and attaching in place. Next . . . 
. . . locate the guide line along bottom of shape,
and position the bottom of accent shape along
the line, with back edge . . . 
. . . abutted to strip edge, and glue in place.
32. Bend the center dome section back on perf lines.
Position side panel edges aligned along corresponding
segment edges, and glue in place. Repeat for both
side panels.
33. Position and attach rim strip along upper edge
of center panel. Bend larger center overlay back
on perf lines, then position and attach in place.
34. Apply adhesive to face side of lower flange 
outer surfaces. Insert half dome into "tray" of
upper reinforcement, slide forward completely,
then attach in place.
35. Position and attach each rivet circle into
circle recesses.
