Four Star Twist Quilt Block Card

PLEASE NOTE: If you purchased and downloaded this design
#316808 from the Silhouette America online store any time
before March 27, 2020, please revisit that site
and download again to receive the corrected cut file.
OR -- if check the download you have to see if it
has the center square on the mat shape as a straight up
and not an on-point square (the latter is the corrected one),
you can email me at hearthsewnpatterns@yahoo.com and I will email
you back the svg file that you can upload into Silhouette software.
Traditional “nova” style patchwork star is repeated
four times on this 6x6 side or top folded card.
Stars are “negative” spaces as the front “mat” shows thru
between and around the short and long parallelogram
“patches” that radiate from four accent center squares.
Front mat is attached to offset narrow border front panel
then onto wider offset card base. Change the coloration
for varied card giving occasions.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Review the written notations included on
the cut file to identify and cut the shapes
in the coloration you choose.
2. Position and attach the front panel "mat" onto the front
of the accent panel that shows thru as a narrow border,
taking care to center it in both directions.
3. Identify the pairs of cut hash marks near the outer edges
of the mat that will help with the positioning of the tips
of the parallelograms in the subsequent steps.
4. Position and attach the small contrast center squares
into the recesses of the mat front panel.
5. Position and attach the "weeded" mat center on-point
square into the center recess (the edges will provide
guides for long parallelograms) or the contrast square
if your coloration designates that.
6. Position the large parallelogram patch shapes around
the center square cut lines, with the inward top and bottom
tips aligning at center square and upper left contrast square
corner as shown.
Rotate and repeat to position each
of the other 3 large parallelogram patches in the same manner.
7. Position a "left" and a "right" short parallelogram
at the corner position as shown, using guide marks
to align tips, as well as the contrast square corners.
The "negative" space that is created between or
around the patches will show thru as the "nova" star.
8. Repeat with the remaining three pairs at the other
three corners of the front panel as shown.
9. Bend the card base back at the side perforation to define
the card base front panel.
10. Position and attach the front panel assembly, centered,
on the base front panel.
Here is the completed card with back panel folded.
