Shamrock Postcard LUCK Flags

Large tag or flat card is sized to use a vintage or specialty
postcard print  or use the large layered shamrock
as center design on rounded corner panel with offset.
Two shaped-top layers include a ribbon slot for
a special accent. Tiny triangle flags with wrap-over tops,
contrast overlays spell out L U C K to hang across
postcard front, if desired.
Measures approx. 4.5” wide x 7.75” tall.
Coordinates with “Pennant 3D Pocket” as
the pocket insert tag, flags draped across and . . .
. . . as part of the larger Pocket Pennant project.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A postcard base   B offset base accent
C inner offset accent   D top center offset accent
E vintage post card as alternative top center accent
(used in the finished sample in place of I-L)
F mini pennant flag wrap-over base shapes
G contrast "show-thru" panels
H  "L U C K" cutout pennants
I shamrock base   J inner contour shamrock
L center and offset center circles
K stem with attachment circle at top
2. Position and attach the front accent shape onto
the accent base, then center and attach to the base,
taking care that the ribbon slot openings align exactly.
3. Position and attach the front panel, if desired
(or . . .
. .  attach the decorative vintage postcard instead).
4. Assemble the shamrock by layering and attaching
shapes using the center alignment holes,
then position and attach the top circle.
5. Prepare the attach the stem behind the shamrock
by locating the top center position of the assembly . . .
. . . turning the unit over, then positioning the stem
so that its top semi-circle extension can line up
with the similar edges of the shamrock base at top,
and also with punch holes lined up. Glue in place.
6. Position over the front panel and attach in place.
7. Position and attach the shamrock/panel assembly
over the front accent panel of the postcard base assembly.
8. Prepare the mini pennant flag bases by bending
back on the perforation lines.
(NOTE the final cut file shape was modified to increase
the size of the back 'half' of the flag for easier fold-over.)
9. Position each letter-cutout front accent over a contrast
triangle and glue in place.
10. Position and attach the center flag accent units
on the front of a triangle flag base, with narrow offset
margin around side, and . . .
. . . with top edge aligned along perforation crease.
11. Locate the center of a length of hanging twine
(this project used an 18" length that was later trimmed),
then wrap the top of the 'C' flag over the twine and glue. . .
. . . the back panel to the backside of the front half.
12. Repeat for the 'K' flag next to the 'C' flag, then . . .
. . . position and attach the 'U' and the 'L' in front of
the previously-attached flags.
13. Tie the ends into a half-bow (or as desired)
then position across the postcard as desired
and glue end knots/bows in place. Trim excess twine.
14. Thread ribbon through the top slot and
finish with wraps or as desired.
Here is the completed post card.
15. The postcard can be an added decorative
element by tucking it inside the pocket pennant
for which it is intentionally designed . . .
. . . with mini flags pennant reserved to drape across front.
