Season of Thanksgiving Long Plaque

Use a half dozen card stock sheets to build
an extra long plaque for a bulletin board,
thankfulness message wall, autumn holiday display,
shelf, poster or sign.

Center panel has cut out letters to convey
“SEASON OF THANKFULNESS” ,
and can be used independently if preferred.
(Retain the interior shapes to complete the ‘O’ and ‘As’),
with contrast layer behind, extra layers to thicken
the panel for impact, weight and sturdiness.
Stack base panel layers, then abut them together
to meet up at center behind the center panel,
extending the panel to an extra large 15” long x 4.5” tall size
(configured at this max to effectively use 12x12 sheets).
Main version of base panels includes holes to accept
.5” wood button plugs as accents, with thickening rings
offset approx. 3/16” behind button edge,
or in front as accents.
Omit the wood button plug accents by using
the plain base panels without holes.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A plaque front phrase cut out
(be sure to retain the unattached tiny interior
shapes from 'As', 'Os'.
B center plaque contrast plus build-up (4-5)
C & D under-plaque side extensions with build up
layers (face layers plus 4-5 each)
E optional round ring collars for wood button accents
F letter cutouts that can help position separate
interior shapes for "Season of Thankfulness"
2. Complete the build up shapes to allow time for
glue to dry. NOTE that this assembly guide will
use the punch holes for wooden buttons version.
A) layer 4-5 side extension shapes with front
face layer contrast.
Immediately after glue up is finished, place each
component being assembled on a flat work surface
then press flat under a heavy flat weight such as
this wooden plank, possibly with something else
heavy placed on top.
B) layer and attach the wooden button holes,
if desired.
NOTE that the number of rings cut, stacked and joined
should be based on establishing a thickness
that matches the "stem" extension that might . . .
. . . poke though the stacked side panel.
Place the extra rings behind side plaque where
button stem extends past the punch hole.
3. Position and attach the phrase front panel
over the built-up center panel. Then . . .
. . . re-insert the separate shapes such as the 'O'
shown here into the "waste" center of 'O' . . .
. . .which can then be placed in the specific letter
cut out window to help position the separate
letter centers.
Glue the letter's center shape in place . . .
. . . then remove the 'O' ring that is not needed.
4. Turn center panel face down on work surface,
identify the center alignment marks at center top
and bottom. Apply glue to the surfaces that will touch,
then position and attach the first end half
with inside straight edge aligned at mark, with
top and bottom edges parallel to front panel.
5. Repeat with second side panel.
6. Position and attach optional ring collars
and then wooden buttons through rings and holes.
